Cheapest but good quality to represent it's Brand
Cheapest but good quality to represent its Brand. If you keep the battery inside, it may drain. Need to remove after every use. The sound is noseless and good quality. It has an external mic input jack, that's a plus point to get six stars for the price range. The battery is removable, that's another plus point. It's not a mobile phone. It's a recorder, so we expect it to have ways to charge its battery.

Great device
Great product. On board speaker is weak though. Doesn't do recording quality any favours on play back but when using head phones, recordings sound much better. I use for kids singing lessons. Kids found them easy to use. Small and compact etc.

So very difficult to use and poor sound.
Why on earth don`t they bother with a decent picture and instructions. Very tricky if you dont use one like this. We just need a good size instruction manual please or dont bother selling. We dont always have similar items to compare buttons and tabs.

Took a risk ... it backfired
I read the reviews and thought for a cheap audio recorded it will be ok. How bad could it be? I found out the hard way, the audio is so low quality it is inaudible, especially when noise levels rise in background noise and when there is applause for example.Probably ok for a dictaphone/ personal voice memos but if you want to use the audio for anything.

Brilliant value
For basic dictation/recordings this is great. Paid £15 which is very cheap for what it does.As previous reviewers have mentioned the included batteries died pretty quickly which suggests these may be old stock but this is really a very minor niggle.Nice product

Small lightweight high quality recorder
The included batteries were dead on arrival, but once I put in fresh batteries it worked just fine. I would recommend downloading the pdf manual from the Philips website. The instructions that came with this are too brief. Everything said, I think this is a good little recorder. Once you know how to use it. The recorder fits nicely in the hand and the quality of the Wav recordings are very good. The mic sensitivity is also good. The recorder is a one touch record and stop, then hit play. Very easy to record and play back recordings. I purchased this because Philips is a well known brand. The record button doubles as an ok button. Once your understand this, changing menu options and deleting files is a breeze. I would definitely recommend this recorder for anyone who wants something that's lightweight, small, pocketable and produces high quality recordings. The playback speaker quality is also very good. Don't be put off by the other reviews, take a bit of time to understand how to use it and you will see it is a good machine.

Not sensitive enough
I had the product on a coffee table while two people sat either side and spoke at normal volume - the device barely picked up the sound and lots of it was inaudible. I think it would be fine if you want to hold it up and speak directly into it but not otherwise. By the way the user guide is a digital one, that you access by connecting the device to your computer via usb.
