Excellent in form and function, very happy with it after 1st road trip 4k miles.
Installed in a box van conversion. Low energy draw and quiet operation. 4 speeds and great air movement. Got the simple version, dont need a remote in a 10ft box. I would buy another if needed, no question. Sits in the air shadow of my roof air unit and I can drive with it full open. No water even fully open in Florida rainstorms. With solar on top I can let it run and never worry about it with 200Ah of Li. ion to draw on at night. Great unit.

Max air fan for van build
I am building out a van to live in full-time on my YouTube channel Vanessa‘s van life journey. I have a max air fan in my previous van and I love this product. It gives great ventilation and circulation so I knew I needed to purchase another one it arrived fast And I have already installed this fan. I would definitely recommend this product and re-purchase it again if needed.

Just installed
We purchased the 06401K Maxxair DLX Vent to replace the rooftop RV Air Conditioner in our Lance Squire Lite truck camper, because we almost always boondock camp (no generator). This unit has no remote, is manual opening, and only exhausts air at 4 speeds....we went with the simple one. At the lowest speed, the fan noise was unnoticeable. At high speed, it was tolerably quiet.Installation is definitely a DIY project, as long as you're comfortable safely accessing the roof of your RV, and working with power tools and wiring. If you're removing a 115v AC unit as we did, be sure you're disconnected from all power sources before starting, and those units are heavy and awkward up on the roof....be safe. The entire fan assembly fit perfectly in the 14"x14" opening, which, from what I understand, is pretty much the standard size opening for RV roof vents and AC units. I cleaned up the old opening of all old sealant and dirt with rags and acetone (our roof is stainless steel sheet...other materials may not be compatible with strong solvent cleaners). We located12v power just a few inches away at a light fixture. The wiring to the fan motor is about 16ga, and about 18" long, so it was plenty sufficient to reach. I had to drill a small hole in the wood that framed the opening to fish the wires through, and easily retrieved them through the hole for the light fixture wires. The inner cosmetic trim ring will need to be cut down to adapt to the thickness of your roof. I just used a utility knife backed with a piece of wood and guided with a straight edge. The material was thin and soft to get through with a couple of passes.Other stuff you'll need to complete the project:Rags and cleaner/solvent to clean and prep the roofButyl seal tape to place between the roof and the exterior flangeLap Sealant (one tube is plenty used generously) to seal the screws and exterior edgeSome wire butt splices to crimp wire leads to the power source.Maybe some electrical tape to make things neat.Tools:A pry bar to gently release the old fixture from the roof, after removing fasteners.Scrapers for roof prep#2 Screwdriver (a drill/driver makes fastening into the roof much easier).Length of stiff wire or wire fishing tool, to pull fan wires to your power sourceWire strippers/cutters/crimperI expect this to be the most useful upgrade we've done yet to the camper....it will allow some diffused light and ventilation where the unused AC unit did not.Doug & Heather....on a beach somewhere!

High quality and quiet operating vent fans!
We could not stand the terrible OEM exhaust fans on our Grand Design 2760MK travel trailer, they were very noisy and the performance was terrible. We ordered these Maxxair Maxxfan Delux vents and had them installed. What a difference, 4 speeds, quiet operation and they really move a lot of air. We will never have a camper with the cheap OEM fans again. Would have given a higher review if one was available.

Not all created equally
Purchased this item earlier this month. Finally found some professionals to install it. Got it installed only to discover that it has a faulty circuit board - post installation. Had to order a 2nd one. While it advertised that it came with a remote, on the box & other places- sadly this model didn’t come with a remote and I don’t see any remotes that match the model # 00-06401, and I am vertically challenged - a remote would have been helpfulPost installation of purchase of 2nd fan to replace circuit board- I discovered that the circuit board # 2 is also not working properly- when I power it on - it should start at the lowest speed # 1, but it starts at highest speed of # 4 then goes to 1. It’s not working properly- bottom line. It’s a malfunctioning circuit board- once again I refuse to purchase anything more - this product is already installed and I am unable to get it uninstalled- I will have a hole in my roof. Super irresponsible on the part of the manufacturer and this is not okay.DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT-

Best option that I know of, overpriced for China Mfg
I used this to replace a standard bathroom vent with the small fan that came from Winnebago. Install was straight forward. One of the metal clips that the 4 screws thread in to hold the unit on the mounting flange was made incorrectly and the screw would not tighten up. Just a minor quality control issue. My only gripe with this fan is the cheap plastic it is made of and the crazy price. As simple as these fan are they should at least make them in the US if they are going to mark them up so much.Basically all the deluxe models are the same fan with a different circuit board. If you only need exhaust this is the one to buy.FYI my unit drew .1 amp on low, .5 on setting 2 which is the highest setting where is it basically quiet, and 2.5 amps in high running at 12v.

Fantastic product very powerful!
This is an amazing fan I got the basic one that had manual open and 4 speed without remote. My main goal was to upgrade the useless little fan that was original so that it will actually pull out moisture during showers and other normal bathroom activities ! It’s very powerful and moves plenty of air out!

Such a huge upgrade
Our camper van had an old style rooftop fan that died and was ready for something better. Love the design of this one where you can have it open at highway speeds or in the rain. Very quiet as well. And looks good 👍. Fairly easy install, as long as you are comfortable climbing up on the roof of your unit.
