Works for me.
I had tried subliminal tapes on weight loss in the past and had never had any success. I refer to the type where the messages are embedded in the music. I've also tried the rah-rah coaching tapes and had no luck there either. But because I was desperate to find something that would help me break the hold that emotional eating has on me, I considered hypnosis programs. I ordered quite a few to try, but this is the one I'm keeping. Ms. Montanaro's voice is soothing and relaxing. Her voice is the most pleasant voice of any of the many hypnosis programs I listened to. I wish she would produce other tapes on self-esteem, motivation, etc. These are common problems among dieters. The first program on this C.D. deals with weight loss and uses guided imagery that I find very easy to get into. The second program is on exercise motivation, and is also easy for me to use. I consistently listen to both programs during the morning when I can relax and focus without falling asleep (did I mention they're very relaxing?) and then I listen to both programs at bedtime and fall asleep to them. After less than two weeks I am noticing that without any conscious effort on my part I am not using food to soothe my emotions anymore. The exercise program has been a little slower to show effect. But the last three days I have been more motivated to exercise, and I am an exercise hater in the extreme. I was very skeptical that hypnosis would work for me, but without a doubt it has been changing the way I relate to food. I've lost 5 lbs in the last two weeks, when before my weight loss was stalled due to the emotional stress of this time of year. This is truly helping to change my eating habits and lose the weight. I would recommend anyone who is interested in trying hypnosis for weight loss to start with this program.

Mixed Feelings
I really wanted to like this CD. The excellent reviews were encouraging. The CD arrived quickly and I was impressed with the professional packaging and booklet. I don't have time to listen to a CD like this during the day and thought it would be great to help me relax and sleep, while perhaps subconsciously absorbing some positive messages to help lose weight and exercise more. The CD starts out great, although I thought the audio could be a little better. I had to turn the volume up slightly higher than I prefer for bedtime listening in order to understand the speaker's words. I can live with that. The messages are quite good, calming, and I found myself really relaxing. I would start to drift off, and then..... the speaker becomes very excited, much louder, and she speaks quite rapidly. I think she's trying to be enthusiastic and encouraging, but for me it's the hypnotic equivalent of a cold shower. So, I'm disappointed for only that reason. The CD can't work for me because it doesn't fit my lifestyle which is to do my relaxation at bedtime, where I want to *stay* relaxed. And, there is a "no return unless defective" policy, which I guess I understand. Hopefully you will have better luck.

Stay Alert and listen, challenge info that is not true for you.
Not sure about this yet other than awareness. I think it should be listened while fully alert. Some information is truly not accurate and could be dangerous if you believe it but not able to change it. Definitely, too long. Has some good info but it's just like listening to someone and you only take what is helpful. But u have to be alert. Will update later. UPDATE: Used more than 5 times but just too long, ordered her other cd, it has 4 subjects and they are only 15 min long. I think this might work for me. Keeping both conscious and unconscious together.

Seems to work
I've been using this cd for 1 week. I didn't want to review it until I had a chance to try it. I will say this, it seems to work. I listen to the cd when I retire for the night. The doctor has a soothing British accent and he doesn't get loud or excited. The background music and the woman singing is also pleasant.Since listening to the cd, I seem to be more careful in what I eat. My snacking is down, especially in the evening. I do drink more water but that could be because I live in the Southwest and it's been hot.One benefit is that I sleep better. Odd because at the end of the first session, the doctor says you will feel refreshed. I have no trouble falling off to sleep but I sleep through the night until the alarm goes off the next morning. I haven't done that in months!

I'm very impressed
This CD has two sessions, one for controlling eating, and one for motivating exercise. The speaker's voice is pleasant and relaxing, yet determined and energetic when giving suggestions. The relaxation and visualization techniques were very effective for me; the first time I listened, some deep emotions were aroused, and it was clear that there was something subconsciously blocking my weight loss attempts. The techniques include getting permission before proceeding (I don't really know how to explain it), and multiple suggestions that the subconscious mind will do what it knows to be best, including a suggestion near the end that the subsconcious mind will work out whatever issues are impeding your progress. Sure enough, the second time I listened I had somehow worked that all out, I went into a much deeper state, and I'm on my way.I've lost a large amount of weight before, kept it off for a couple of years, slowly gained much of it back, and recently had difficulty keeping the focus necessary to get it off again. With this CD, I know that I will be successful, and furthermore, that I now have a means for regaining focus when I lose it. I also plan on locating another copy of The New Fit Or Fat by Covert Bailey, which was my bible the first time (I basically used to hypnotize myself on my XC ski machine; "Your muscles are getting sleek and lean... your muscles are getting sleek and lean... your muscles...")
