Honda eu2200i security box!!

Good, but could be better
I’m not mounting on a trailer, I needed a security box to store a Honda EU2200i about 25 feet behind my mountain cabin. I plan to mount on a wooden platform or concrete slab.The box just arrived today, so I’m in a very early testing stage.First thing I found is that this is not a box intended to be used closed with a running generator. Even with the box fully opened, unless the genny is set diagonal, carbon monoxide builds, and soon shuts things down.My generators are stock with no extended exhaust.Disappointing too is that the aluminum is more thin than a typical truck toolbox. This may reduce the box’s its anti-theft qualities. Rather than storing my newer Honda, I may go with housing my older less expensive Powerhorse brand generator until I get more confident in the anti-theft capabilities.It’d also be nice if the box came in painted colors so it would blend better with landscaping. I’ll likely keep this thing under a grill cover, so color’s not a key issue.That said, the box looks good. It locks. It’s big enough to store a power cord and a can of starting fluid. Between its weight and that of the generator, it’s probably somewhat a deterrent to casual theft.I just wish it would run lid-down for rainy (or snowy) day operation.

Generator box
I purchased the generator box for my stand . Well made and easy to install.. I put my genmax 3500 inverter generator in it fits well. Only problem I had was my carbon monoxide safety alert would kill my generator. I piped the exhaust would run 30 minutes and cut out . I installed two 4 inch exhaust fans and that resolved any issue I had with generator.. I am pleased with my setup.

Nice but need some design improvements on quality
Very nice unit, will fit my firman inverter generator. I added a exhaust extention to the side so i can close the unit and the co detector wont shut down the generator. I had room to add a larger starter battery and move it away from the heat of the engine. I added a 12 volt computer fan to one of the rubber holes and wired it to the 12 volt plug it runs when the generator is operating to draw in cooler fresh air in even though my generator has a blower of its own to cool the engine. But I believe there should be more internal metal straping and gussets to support and strengthen the unit especially on the door. It would have cost just pennies more and would have greatly improved the quality. Unit is flimsy at this point in spots, the aluminum is light, but is weak, care will have to be exercise during use not to break it. The door was tweaked and didn't close and seal properly. I may have to make some adjustments in the future to strengthen the door
