Works great! Glare in shallows can be a bit tricky.
Just got back into after a 10 year hiatus. Not sure of anyone that ever really kept a dive log, but now you can. Dive computers make everything so easy, and this one worked brilliantly. It can be hit or miss to get the Pod and the Computer to connect via bluetooth, but purging some air a couple of times seems to do the trick (dive master showed me this trick). Cheers.

Nice computers, great company to work with
Had an issue with the tank pod and they replaced it quickly and without issue (even after the return period had expired)!

Near-perfect dive computer
I have owned and used many other dive computers. All of them did the job adequately (some better than others), but I didn't realize how much better life could be until I found the Suunto Eon Core. Now that I have used the Eon Core, I wouldn't even think of going back to the others. I love this dive computer. It is very easy to read and understand under most diving conditions. The only two things that keep this from being the *perfect* 5-out-of-5-star dive computer are the fact that it could be just a bit brighter (it isn't quite bright enough when using it in full sunlight, and I would gladly give up some of its impressive battery capacity to have a brighter screen - this should be user option), and the fact that the screen shows quite a lot of glare in very bright, shallow diving conditions (e.g., Hawaii, Sri Lanka, etc.).

Too easy too lock computer and locks for way too long.
DO NOT BUY!! Display is great. Super easy to pair with the pod for tracking tank pressure. Love the auto upload to the phone app of your dive profile. However, it is way too easy to lock the computer for 48hours. After the 3 min 10-20 ft safety stop, if you slightly ascend the last 10 ft just little too quickly, it will lock for an unreasonable 48 hours. Not sure how it is a "safety feature" if it will still track your tank pressure for the next dive, but won't let you know any other dive information. Going back to my older uwatec computer and seeing if I can find somebody to buy this on ebay. Avoiding all suunto products in the future.

Great dive computer with crystal clear screen and customizable display
I got the black Eon Core and took it on a Sea of Cortez Mexico trip recently (8 dives). I have the D5 already, but wanted the bigger display when scuba diving in low light conditions. My POD transmitter from the D5 is even working with the Eon Core.So far this thing works excellent. The display is really crisp and it has big buttons that can be operated easily with gloves. The transmitter works fine and catches the signal fast. I think I will end up cutting the strap as it is really long and there is no way I need that much strap. There is a way to customize the display and the also change the alignment of the buttons. The app is easily synchronizing with the computer, but in my opinion still has some bugs that I hope they fix. I don't need "my daily goal displayed" when scuba diving. Or at least I have not found a way to deactivate it.I can recommend this computer from my experience, it is a great dive computer with lots of features.

Battery life is an issue
I have made 20-30 dives with this computer. Overall I like it, but there are issues.1. I like having a rechargeable battery; previous dive computers required battery changes by me or by a dealer. However, battery life is an issue. Fully charged it says 13 hours but 13 hours of what? It isn’t 13 hours of diving. It isn’t 13 hours elapsed. I have no idea. If it gets down to 2 hours, it says it needs recharge and the manual says you can’t dive with it - the 13 hours becomes 11? If you do dive, with this apparently working but low on battery computer it just locks you out for 48 hours like a deco violation! Why 48 hours when the industry norm is 24? I have no idea.2. Depth, time, NDL and tank pressure are clearly displayed, but deep stops and safety stops are not. There is text across the top, but the “recharge required” and “charging” messages are bigger. During the stop, there is a stop depth in the (minor) bottom right position but no countdown timer. A small countdown timer can be got with 4 button presses. Previous dive computers have switched to a different screen with essential stop/deco information in large numbers. NB Miss a stop = 48 hours in jail!3. A color screen is nice but, being LED rather than LCD it can be hard to read in sunlight. Low battery and low air are red on black - almost unreadable. I have taken to wearing the unit on the inside of my wrist so I can shade it from the light.
