Good Starter Jar
I made a starter from scratch about a year ago but I had it in a container that wasn't optimal (was too big, had shoulders, sealed lid) so I got this one and my starter is the healthiest I've ever seen it. The jar feels like it has good quality glass. It's a lot easier to keep track of feeding thanks to the day marker which doubles as a level marker. The tempuature sticker works and is accurate. And nothing ever sticks to the silicone spatula making it really easy to scrape the sides. A lot of reviews on this product are complaining about the product having no instructions for make/maintain a starter which I find kind of odd because the product is a jar not a starter.

Sourdough starter jar.
This was as expected. I really like the design of the jar, very easy to use.

Really nice jar
I really like this jar. It's easy to clean and set up. I've been mixing the feeding portion in a separate container and then mixing it in and that's been working the best for me. Temp strips work great, I love that it came with extra toppers for it, and the spatula is working nicely.

Nice starter set
This is a nice set to start with, although thought it was a little pricey. Would definitely research sourdough prep as the simplistic instructions may not work for everyone. The banneton basket is really nice.

Tasty fun!
A lot of fun! Had a blast for days making sour dough and a lot of bread. Use mineral water tastes better!

Great jar
The jar is great! Love the little covers it comes with. The spatula is nice too but the top cracked open with some use!

It works, but the jar is not ideal.
This kit is ok, I still use the spatula and cloth covers but I’ve moved on from the jar. It is just too big for a person who just bakes one or two loaves per day. It’s size makes it harder to keep and scrape clean than what I finally landed on using, and it’s kind of a chore to dig deep in the jar to reach and get the starter out.I found that 250ml borosilicate beakers work great. Their sides are flat all the way up, can easily prepare ~120ml of starter, they are well marked, and I can get them in packs for cheap. Need more room, get a 500ml, but note that the rated volume is only 2/3 or so of the total on beakers, it will hold the rating easily without completely filling.Having a bunch of small beakers that are easy to clean is game changing. I can split and prepare single servings from the main starter or I can daisy chain slightly more than one recipe worth of starter into clean jars each day, never giving them a chance to get crusty.
