Perfect off ice shooting pad!
Both of my boys play travel hockey and shoot countless pucks in the driveway on off days. They love the ACE Hockey synthetic ice shooting pad! They are able to use their on ice hockey sticks for shooting and they don't get damaged like when they used to shoot off of the concrete. They say that the puck feel during shooting is very similar to on the ice. We use a product by ACE hockey to lubricate the shooting pad and it works great! If your son or daughter is looking for a great practice shooting pad, look no further. We couldn't be happier with this.

Perfect for practice
Feels pretty lightweight and easy to move. Great for practicing with the puck. Material seems durable and does not scratch easily. The surface is smooth and easy to move the puck on.

Nice for a little extra off-ice work.
I have a few of these shooting pads for my kids and I. We have three hockey players in the family and these are nice for working on the stickhandling, shooting, and passing skills. First off, they really don't seem like anything special. They just seem like a piece of plastic with a few holes for accessories and portability. They are not equivalent to ice, so understand that before you buy it and you won't be disappointed. I prefer that they are a little slower as it makes the player more deliberate in their movements and also adds a little extra strength and dexterity. If you do crazy things like drive over them or treat them like a floor mat, you will gouge them up and slow them down even more. I have used ACE Hockey's spray that's supposed to be for the skating tiles on these and it did add a little slick to them. Someone else mentioned pledge, but I didn't try it. They are surprisingly heavy and they do not bend well for storage. You will need a storage area equivalent to their size if you want to keep them inside. I just rest ours on the back of the net and then lay them out when ready to practice. I do think $100 is a bit much for what they are. I/You could probably find a plexiglass shop in town and pay half that at best.

Perfect Hockey Training Aid
My 15 year old son is outside all the time practicing his shooting of the puck into our hockey goal we got for him. He previously had to deal with shooting off of our asphalt driveway and now that he has this shooting pad, it makes a world of difference. I asked him about his review of this and he said, "Dad, it's like I am at the roller hockey rink. There is no comparison to shooting it off the driveway versus this shooting pad!". The portability is probably what I like best to set up on the driveway and to store back in the garage. The two cut out holes make for easy transport. In addition, as stated earlier, it provides an extremely slick surface matching the game conditions of his roller hockey rink. It is a little on the pricey side, but as I always state, "You get what you pay for!". This item is of the highest quality, slick, very portable, and makes for a great hockey training aid.

Not sure how ice like this is
It is curled up for shipping. Loosely, but curled and it never really became in curled. It bows.I got it for my son to practice shooting (hockey) but that’s not going quite as well as hoped. He keeps asking if he can skate on it, I keep saying no. Seems like it would crack. But if there was directions or a one sheet explaining how to use it, I’d feel less in the dark.I feel im a bit uninformed about this item. Like how do I clean it? Can he skate in it? What surface does it m work best on?Not sure how to use. So we don’t use it.

Amazing mat to practice ice hockey right in your backyard in hot weather
I love this concept! I didn't know something like this existed. The mat allows you to practice shooting and puck handling even in hot weather or on grass. The mat feels a lot like the texture of the ice, and is an excellent solution to be able to practice ice hockey skills at home. My son is a hockey player and has enjoyed this immensely, and was as surprised as I was that something like this existed and is able to extend his practice time right at home.
