Daughter Loved Building This Vintage Beetle.
Our Daughter loves lego or anything to build and place together for her display shelfing and this is just a wonderful piece to have on show as she also just loves the VW Beetle cars too!It was nice and well made put together and she found it nice and easy for her to put it together by herself following the provided instructions on building it.The colours is lovely and the beetle with baloons are great!Would make a great gift for any Lego lover, would highly recommend this.

Fun set, large and well designed
This is a large and impressive set. The car is very well designed and the theme is fun for fans of Up and similar movies. We are only halfway through the build so far - but enjoying taking small sessions to build it. The instructions are well made and very clear, on a par with the leading brick brand. The initial build experience does require brick sorting to begin. There are lots of bags, but sorted into 4 main sub components - so you have to open a number of bags to begin. The bricks themselves are not quite up to the standard of the leading brand (which is why this gets 4 stars not 5). Some take a lot of effort to snap together while others are quite loose - but overall, the set holds together well. While there is no alternative build, I am pretty sure that it would be easy to adapt the car so that it has straight running wheels and no clouds or balloons.

Such a lovely set
This set is better than I imagined! The balloons on top remind me of the film Up.The instructions are clear and colours are lovely and bright. There are lots of pieces to build this, so it takes patience, but for the price compared to the more mainstream block construction sets, you really can't fault it.

VALUE OF MONEY
It comes in an exquisite box, containing two large bags of small building blocks, along with a beautifully illustrated instruction manual. The two bags are further divided into smaller ones, each labeled with the sequence 1-2-3-4. The instruction manual showcases the finished product after completing each set of bags, providing a detailed step-by-step guide with vivid images. The manual not only illustrates the outcome for each set of bags but also offers thorough visual instructions for every step. The building blocks boast vibrant colors, enhancing the appeal for young children.Of particular note is the inclusion of a rainbow-colored balloon at the top, reminiscent of the scenes from the movie "Up." However, this balloon is unique as it is attached to the bottom of a car. Given the substantial piece count exceeding 1,000, assembling them requires a considerable amount of time.Priced at £34.99 with a 50% discount, bringing the actual payment to £17.49, this set offers excellent value for money.

An interesting toy with some shortcomings
This lower cost alternative to the similar (and more expensive) construction toy, certainly had a lot of promise. Boasting over 1000 pieces and in bright colours it is clear that a lot of design effort has gone into this product. The instruction manual, printed on glossy paper, has almost 100 pages of photos detailing the construction process and the actual pieces are arranged in build order packs. With a test subject some years older than 8+ , construction started off fine with pieces fitting together well in accordance with the instruction manual. However, they soon found that some of the pieces required significant effort to join as instructed an help of an adult (me) was needed. When mistakes were made, taking apart joined pieces was even more difficult. The provided, orange coloured tool was a great idea and was helpful when de-construction was necessary. Some pieces also seemed to be missing whilst there were duplicates of other small pieces (perhaps these were spares in case small pieces were lost by the builder).Because of the difficulties encountered and the time taken to get part way through the build, my subject became disenchanted (though they did say they would probably come back to it). Overall I think the product does have have a lot going for it but think perhaps a little more has to go into quality control and the machining tolerances.

Really fun to build
I got this as a bonding experience with my 8 year old son and we're loving every minute so far. You get a lot of individual bags so you will need a degree of organization especially when you are required to open a few bags to begin with. The build process is easy to follow and understand exactly like it would be on a Lego build and although I am yet to complete the build it is looking really nice. I will say the quality of the bricks aren't as high a quality as you may be used to if you are a Lego fan however considering it is currently £35 with a 50% discount voucher making it £17.50, this is a HUGELY cheap semi-large brick build in comparison and I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a slightly larger project to do.

A serious project
A fun coloured ‘Beetle’ style car, floating from balloons.Well made, and ‘Lego compatible’ bricks in bright colours.A serious undertaking though. 1,056 pieces, and a whopping 289 pages of instructions! (Good clear instructions, but you can easily go wrong and not realise where you’ve misstepped. Not for young children, or at least not without committed parental support.Great model in the end though!
