Amazing book to read
Having read the 4 pillars of problem solving, I was looking forward to this one and it did not disappoint at all. The book is very easy to digest and teaches you the important role that critical thinking places in our lives. It provides a wonderful insight like no other book out there on how to get the perfect work - life balance and grow as a person. I strongly recommend this book for those that want to have a successful field no matter the field.

Poorly written with trite purile useless examples
I strongly believe that Critical Thinking is one of the most important untaught skills around today - I actively seek reading on the topic to grow my understanding of it and how to apply it a meaningful way in my personal and business life. This book in no way helped me on that journey. It is highly repetitive and poorly written with trite and purile examples that fail to illustrate the point the author is trying and failing to make. It feels like a school term paper that has been expanded to unwisely try to fill a book. The only useful thing it did was take me back to better tomes I have read on the topic and make me re-read on the topic - I suppose I should thank the author for that at least.

Was hoping for practical advice
The book is well written, but I was looking for something more. If you are looking for a book which tells you what critical thinking is and theories around why it’s important this book is for you, but if you want to know about techniques and most importantly how to apply them it will disappoint. For example, there is a good quote about your idea is only as good as how you communicate it, but there is no suggestions on how to present your idea, position your idea verbally and in a presentation or email. The book tells you frequently why critical thinking is important which I think is pretty obvious. Lots of theory around why you should consider religious and ethnic biases etc but no directionI found myself skipping chapters quickly as I was after some toolkit ideas to put into practice. I thought the final chapter of “critical thinking exercises” would finally start to cover the how, but it didn’t. Just more theory suggesting you could practice using puzzles with more theory, or in debates, but no advice on how.The book is well written. Many people will like the theory side, I tried to look beyond the theory, but was hoping for advice on how to apply tools and skills to further improve my critical thinking - but there are none in here unfortunately.

Badly written and lacking structure
I found this a painful read. It’s written as though it’s a collection of blog posts. Repetitive sentence structure and lacking in real examples. Took nothing from this book except a strong desire to put it down and stop reading it

Boost Your Thinking Skills
This book really nails the whole tech and info world, showing how awesome it is to get info super easily, but also pointing out a big downside – it might mess with your critical thinking. It's like, too much easy info can make us lazy thinkers, just accepting stuff without really thinking about it. The author warns about how this convenience vibe can lead to info overload and a brain that's not so good at critical thinking. But here's the cool part: the book is like a guide to boost your critical thinking skills. It's well put together, and the four pillars it talks about give you a clear roadmap. I just wish there were more real-life examples to help get the point across better. The part about personal change and the "superpower" idea really pumps you up – turns the book into not just something to read but something that pushes you to think better. Totally recommend it!
