No fishy smell, nice bundle
I've been taking fish oil for a long time but had read up on some of the benefits of cod liver oil specifically. These are fairly small pills and don't have any fishy smell. The bundled pillbox is a nice bonus; portable enough to keep in my work bag.As with all oil pills, I suggest keeping them in the fridge to reduce the chance they go rancid and to make sure they stay separated (hot days can melt gelcaps together).

Not GMP - Not Third-Party Tested - Not Recommended
When I decided to try this particular brand of Cod Liver Oil I didn't realize that Spring Valley is a brand that comes from Walmart. That doesn't bother me though. The bottle states that it is a product of China, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, and United States. The origin of this is really unclear. There is no information available regarding manufacturing facilities or third-party testing. This means that you have no guarantee that you are getting what you pay for. This is definitely one of the cheaper options available. However, there are several others brands at a similar price point and potency that are GMP certified.Based on my findings I do not recommend this particular brand and cannot find any reason to choose it over another at this price point that is manufactured in a GMP facility.--------------------------------How I rate supplements--------------------------------Testing and manufacturing is critical for supplements to ensure you are getting what is in the bottle. I deduct a star for each of the following:- No (current) cGMP manufacturing. GMP is good but current is the best and products should be rewarded for using it (I make exceptions for FDA certified GMP facilities).- Lack of third-party testing (including proof or additional details besides a simple claim)* I exclude extracts and pure ingredient supplements from common foods
