In the past I haven't really bought a lot of dates but I bought one packet of these to make Nut Bars* and I really liked the flavour of them. I then tried a pack of normal dates and realised I preferred the Whitworths Sayer one's both for flavour and texture - they blitz better. So know I have bought this pack of them goes without saying I like them. The ingredients are 96% dates, rice flour 30% and sunflower oil. The rice flour just lightly coats the chopped up dates to stop them sticking together in baking however they are still very edible to snack on if required. There is a simple recipe for Sticky Toffee Pudding on the packet which I must try and it sounds yummy and looks simple to do. In the meantime my Nuts Bars are a cup of nuts and a cup of dates blitzed and mixed with any flavouring you want and they make a nice simple no sugar added snack. There are 276kcal in 100g of the dates and it suggests a serving is 30g so the pack gives you over 8 servings.

Great for snacking and for cooking. Top quality product well packaged.

These are excellent value for money.The only downside is:1. Hard bits of shell/stone.2. Really hard to open packet.I had to cut the packets open with scissors.But other than this, they are good for baking with. Saves the hassle of having to chop yourself.Going forward though, I’ve discovered date paste which thankfully has no stones in them. A solid block of dates with all the hard bits strained away. It costs a bit more but is worth it for the sake of my teeth.

Couldn't find this in my local Tesco anymore, so I ordered it on-line. Love it sprinkled on my breakfast cereal.

Great for making my date and walnut loaves not to dry.

Great if you want to throw them into your baking as they are. But I wanted to soak them prior to making my granola and they turned to mush, as if they were reconstituted. I shall but whole dates and chop them myself in future.

Made delicious sticky toffee pudding
