CanaKitRaspberry Pi 5 Starter Kit PRO - Turbine Black (128GB Edition) (8GB RAM)

I got this CanaKit Raspberry Pi 5 Starter Kit PRO (Turbine Black, 128GB, 8GB RAM) during a Lightning Deal, and I'm extremely satisfied with the purchase. Everything I needed was included, and buying the components separately would’ve definitely cost more.The full-size heatsink and active cooling fan were essential for my setup, especially since I mounted the Raspberry Pi inside a Wireway enclosure. This kit made it easy to get everything in place without worrying about overheating. Installation was straightforward and hassle-free.I used this kit for a solar system monitoring project using Solar Assistant, both for remote access and Kiosk mode on a touchscreen monitor adapted for the Raspberry Pi 5. Everything worked perfectly, and the project was a success.

My son talked me into trying Raspberry Pi as an alternative to buying a replacement PC / laptop that is ready to be sent to electronics recycling. He bought a version that was a little cheaper than this one, but he also said he spent many hours trying to get it working. I purchased this complete kit, watched the video and was online within an hour. My son sat next to me and just kept saying... "wow, this is so easy"... over and over. It comes with Raspberry Pi 5 loaded on the sd card. (his did not) I'm familiar with Linux Mint, so it is so easy to adapt. Even if you're a windows user and don't have experience with a Linux distribution, it's soooooooo easy to use. Suggested software tab also has option to download LibreOffice, the linux version of a full office suite... for free.I can't believe how fast this device is. It's smaller than a pack of playing cards. While there may be cheaper versions of this, I would definitely buy this one again as it contains everything you need to be online quickly and easily. I'm very happy with this purchase!!

Awesome kit. Running custom built Flutter app on it to monitor server metrics. 8gb memory is great, hardly uses any. Nice having the 128g storage. Highly recommend. Debated getting a RPi 4B over the 5 at first, but decided more RAM the better. Doesn't get hot at all. Hooked up to a 10.1 screen with stand. 3D printed a bracket for it to adapt to screen.Not too bad for price, if you're into microcontrollers, you know it gets addicting. Definitely a fast little machine. Transfered folder between my RPi 3B+ using scp, no issues. Easy to setup. Runs and builds the Flutter apps no problem either. I run VS Code on the machine. Still have 118gb left for storage.

This is a 5! I was up and running and online in under 20 minutes. As I’m writing this review, I spotted a 16 gig version but my 8 gig version has plenty of space left over for all the apps I wanted. I’ve owned Debian Linux before and felt right at home with the Pi. I LOVE IT!!! Yes, it has HDMI and the right cables are supplied!

After several attempts to get this device to connect with my wifi, it will not connect. I have read several blog posts on suggestions, but none of them helped to fix the problem. I read that some of these may have production problems with the wifi module on the board.I finally got the 5 to connect to my wifi. It would not connect with the 2.4ghz band but did connect to the 5ghz band on my wifi router after I turned on this feature on the router. I had my router set to 2.4 because some wireless items would not work with 5ghz. I hope they did not get cut off from the router. I can only hope that other wifi routers I may want to connect to have the 5 ghz option. No universal wifi access with the Pi5, keep that in mind.

This is my 2nd Cana kit and it did not disappoint.The setup/assembly wasn't too hard and there is a lot of supporting documentation to assist.Good value vs sourcing the pieces independently. Quality is fine, if not super high end. Pieces all fit together well.

Great value pi that worked out of the box. Initially came with a broken SD Card but I messaged the vendor and they sent me a replacement free of charge. In love with overall and great for learners.

Setting up a mini computer sounds like a daunting task, but canakit makes it about as easy as you could ask for. This is actually my second pi I've bought from them (I previously had a rasp pi 3) and the setup was just as straightforward this time around. They include a card with a link to a setup video as well, which is nice for visual learners like myself. The case is good quality (albeit sometimes a bit finicky to get the board set in) and everything fits in snug as intended. Overall setup speed was fast (probably 10-15 minutes). I definitely recommend canakit, especially if you're new to raspberry pi
