50A 10 Circuit Transfer Switch Kit with 2 Digital Display Energy Meter with SS2-50p Optional Power Inlet, IP 67 Waterproof, Pre-Wired, Transfer Switch Suitable for Indoor and Outdoor Use (2025)

I would have liked if the leads were longer, as I can't mount the box 3 inches from the main panel. But other than that, at the price paid, it's a good solution in one package. I did run 125' of underground 6 awg wire, which cost more than this kit. So saving a few bucks here balanced out the project.

The panel looks nice, it's sturdy, well packaged and the price is tough to beat, but the documentation is marginal. The single sided page for the transfer switch has instructions on how to operate the panel and a drawing of how to wire it and that's it. It's ot a big deal to me, I've installed a few similar panels, but if you need instruction on how to balance the load, choose which circuits to transfer, etc., it's not here. There is another sheet for the meter displays which is in Chinese on one side and English on the other. In the section titled "Attention" , the first item listed says "This product is suitable for indoor use." There is nothing said about outdoor use. The product listing says it is a Nema 3r enclosure and has an IP67 rating for waterproofness, but is that just the enclosure? The meters are uncovered on the front of the enclosure very much exposed to whatever environment the panel is located in. If it can't be used outdoors, it's going to be returned. I will update this when I know more.

As far as I know, toggle switches have been around for literally over a hundred years. However, this manufacturer has somehow not been able to master the simple construction of this most simple of mechanical devices. After paying an electrician to install and wire this unit 3 of the the circuit toggle switches jammed. He had to disassemble each of 3 different toggle switches so that they would work. Since this was an emergency alternative situation for power, I did not want this unit that was obviously of extremely low quality and have to depend on it. I then had to pay to uninstall this faulty unit and had him order a better unit. This is not rocket science here folks. Very disappointing and expensive transaction for me.

The unit is well built however the breakers for transfer are too small and hard to switch. Plus the breakersare hard to locate on the US market and are for the European market. I.E. 16 and 32 amp are not US. Theunit breakers are not labeled . I do not recommend this unit for use in the United States.

Update, Looks like the Hot Bus is also damaged. The breakers cannot hook on the back side before rocking down and locking over the power spade. Trying to work with seller now.First off and so far electrically its checking out as good. I still have to test the switch box and circuit breakers. I do know all the wires are loose, not set.Problems: For starters the cover plate corner is bent. An easy fix but a bummer just the same.Problems: There was rattling plastic parts in the box so I had to do an indepth investigation. Turns out the plastic is from the spring loaded mount clips. My guess is the installer slam dunked the auto switch into place and let the broken chips lie were they lied. The good news is the switch still held in place as it was designed and the broken plastic was insignificant.Conclusion: I still have to check electrical but cosmetic was a 3 out of 10.Would I recommend this to anyone, no. So far this is NOT a quality piece.
