Didn’t know it was made in China. Water tastes ...
Didn’t know it was made in China. Water tastes ok after filtered but afraid of what may be lurking in the water that has leached out of this Chinese product. Replacing with a made in USA product as soon as I find one.

I had a problem with knocking sounds in the plumbing ...
I had a problem with knocking sounds in the plumbing to my ice maker after installation. I'm not sure if the problem was with the actual filter system or the filter cartridge. I ended up buying a new system.

More affordable but ehhh
The product works but I don’t think the water taste nearly as good as the GE brand.

Keep looking
Replaced an overdue GE filter. I was psyched to see a filter of this price. I had to attach 3 times due to minor leaking. The flow seemed restricted. As you should always flush the filter before use, it took about 5 minutes for less than 2 gallons. I decided to deal with it. Later the same day, as my icemaker called for water for the first time, my entire plumbing system was humming loudly throughout the house. I am an experienced home improvement contractor, and have only previously heard this noise due to a bad toilet fill valve. I swapped for it out for the old GE. No problem. The GE filter is expensive and scarce. Amazon has a Culligan head and filter for less than $20. I’ll give it a shot. Returning this filter.

Not a replacement for GE FQSLF
Didn't work. I bought it to replace my FQSLF filter on a GE Smartwater system. When I turned the water supply back on it jerked about 5 times then no water would come out of the faucet. I repeated the process a few times (there was no further jerking), but it still wouldn't work. I put the old filter back on and it still worked, so the problem was with the new filter. FAIL.

Does not work in GXRLQR housing
This filter did not work in a GXRLQR housing. The configuration of the holes are different and it made a strage noise when valved in and no water would go thru it. Stick with GE brand.
