Amazing value for the price
I've only had this a couple days, and it has yet to reach its end user (my dad) since I'm still setting things up, but so far I'm very pleased! It even came with a simple rubber case and seems to have a screen protector already installed. I'm setting it up to be an ereader for my dad, and so far so good! I was particularly happy to see ZERO BLOATWARE! I had settled in to uninstall all the candy crush and other nonsense games and things that often come preinstalled on devices, only to discover...there weren't any! Just all the usual google apps. Now, I don't expect this to stand up against, say, the latest samsung tablet, and neither should you--not for this price. In particular I suspect it would struggle with having multiple apps open and running things, so I've made sure to regularly close everything as I worked setting it up. But it's worked smoothly and without any real delay so far, even as I've installed multiple apps at a time and downloaded books. Again I'm just planning for my dad to use it as an ereader (I even disabled youtube), so I wasn't looking for a powerhouse by any means, but I'm impressed nonetheless. As far as picture quality...well, I'm no videophile. It all looks perfectly sharp to me and will certainly work for reading. I haven't tried the sound, either via speaker or headphones, but you don't need anything fancy for audiobooks. It IS a little heavy, fair warning. And it's thicker than most tablets, so the "universal" case I got for it doesn't quite fit. But I don't think it will be hard to find one that does fit, just stick to the ones with rubber bands rather than hard plastic clips on bungees. The storage space is getting eaten up a bit fast, but there's a micro sd card slot so I foresee little difficulty with that. (knock on wood, of course!)All in all a solid tablet at a reasonable price point!

Reader tablet?
This is an amazing little tablet for reading! I'd super recommend this for reading and very light work like replying to emails or editing papers. If you're looking for a mini tablet for reading/media consumption this is an amazing option especially for $60. The screen is nice and bright when I need it to be. It does lag on start up. But that's to be expected for a budget android tablet. I do have one negative thing to say. I wish they had more options for cases. I paid for a cute purple tablet that is being covered up by a darker clear case. I wish they sold a truly clear case hell maybe even a sparkly one! I would buy it and I know many others would too.Value for the price is absolutely incredible. I think it would be extremely hard to beat and haven't found any other options in this price range with android 14 anywhere else.

Excellent Budget Tablet
Everything about this tablet works great and I an very pleased with it....except for two things. The first is the volume isn't quite loud enough for some music on YouTube. That's easy to fix with a volume booster by GOODEV available in the Play Store. I tried 3 apps before I found one I liked. Simple is better and I have it set to 25% boost and it's more than enough. Huge improvement. The second thing is that the wallpaper I chose for the home screen reverts back to the original wallpaper whenever you reboot the system and I think the stock wallpapers are ugly. So I'm not going to reboot often. I think it is a Android 14 quirk that will need an update to fix.I also have an Amazon Fire tablet 10.1" 2019 version and this UMIDIGI G1 Tab mini compares nicely to it and was a little more than half the price. I can hold the 8" tablet in one hand which is nice and can't do that with the 10". The Amazon tablet is still getting security updates and it's 4.5 years old! Let's see how long the UMIDIGI tablet will get updates for.5/29: The system updated last night and the wallpaper bug is fixed! It took about 25 minutes to update.I keep the GOODEV volume booster set at 10% boost and it's the perfect balance of good low settings and high sound settings.10/31: The tablet no longer powers on! Lasted just over 5 months. Several other reviews mention the same problem. It also doesn't get security updates. E-waste.Apparently the tablet shut itself down on it's own. I had to hold the power button down for half a minute to get it to reboot. So it's working again for now. It still doesn't get security updates.

Great bang for your buck
This tablet has so many things going for it. I have a few other tablets however they are all 10.1 in. I was looking for something smaller and more portable that I can just throw in a backpack and take with me. This tablet is the perfect size. I also like that it comes with a screen protector already installed. I usually put a screen protector on every device that I own. I don't think that the screen protector is tempered glass. It seems pretty thin and I'm guessing it's a plastic screen protector. Hopefully it holds up well to everyday wear and tear. Another thing that this has going well for it is the fact that it comes with a case. Some of these "non mainstream" tablets do not come with cases and you have to find a generic case that somewhat fits it. This comes with a very nice case already installed that fits perfectly and protects the buttons and has openingsfor the camera, speakers, and all of the ports. This honestly is a huge selling feature as it makes the tablet feel more secure. The tablet is very well built and feels very solid in the hands. The responsiveness isn't amazing however it's still seems to function just fine. Honestly, most of the tablets I've used never seem to be as responsive as my phone anyways. I am very pleased with this tablet and it seems to be working very well. Also bonus points is that it fits in my fanny pack!
