Nirvana FutonsWestfield Futon Set - Queen Size, Frame, 8" Mattress, Twill Khaki Cover

This futon was pretty easy to assemble even as an older person (60+). I did need some help for the last couple of steps just because the pieces were a bit bulky. I am pleased with the look and sturdiness of the frame - my 400lb boyfriend can sit on it without any creaking at all. I am slightly disappointed in the futon mattress. Although very comfortable, the fabric seams are not well sewn in places, and will definitely need some touch-up work. There are many stray strands of thread hanging that I needed to cut loose and there are a few apparent spots where the pieces of fabric are not well sewn together - it appears the machine missed up to 3/8" of seam in one or two places. This is my only complaint after well over a month of use. Otherwise it looks and performs well. It is fairly easy to go from the fold-out to upright position without assistance if you remember to pull out the bottom first and the mattress along with it about halfway down. Otherwise it can be a little difficult unless you have some assistance from a 2nd person.

I don't right many reviews, but this couch is the best futon for twice the money. It is durable, comfortable and looks great. It arrives in 3 boxes, so it is easier to move into place. The assembly instructions are clear and concise, and the components and hardware are high quality. Everything fits just as it should. The cushion is thick and soft, the packaging makes it so that none of the wood can get damaged, which is great because the finish is really nice. I highly recommend.

The frame is beautiful, sturdy and solid, and was relatively simple to assemble (took my husband and I about 1.5 hours; was straightforward, just a lot of pieces) but I was very disappointed when we unpacked the mattress. It’s basically a very light tan/beige (not the greenish khaki depicted online) and was much thinner, WRINKLED, and cheaper looking than I’d envisioned (my son has a similar futon with a THICK, sturdy pad of linen and I thought this would be the same).After doing a lot of adjusting, plumping and smoothing with wrinkle-releaser it’s slightly better, and doesn’t look like a frat house anymore. And since this is just going in an upstairs study/guest room I’m fine with it. But I wouldn’t want this for my living room.It IS pretty comfy to sit on, a nice big size and easy to convert into a bed….but it also came with these weird spots that almost look like grease stains. Hopefully I can cover with decorative pillows.So….hope that helps!PS: this also came in three separate packages over the course of two weeks: frame, arms, and mattress. So just be aware!

Since it's a fairly large piece of furniture, it takes a fair amount of time to do all of the things that are needed to put it together (as you would expect with any large piece of furniture). I found that I needed a screwdriver to hold some bolt receptacles in place to screw bolts into them. The need for a screwdriver wasn't mentioned in the instructions, but there is a slot for a screwdriver on the bolt receptacles, so it was implied.Once put together, it's a very nice looking and sturdy wood futon that switches between flat and upright fairly easily. The cushion is thick and sturdy. I chose to put a full-sized memory foam pad over it (covered by a full-sized blanket) to make it more comfortable.But overall, it's a very nice-looking and sturdy wood futon.

I really like all joints are metal to metal, no screws into wood, easy to assemble once I got through inventory with help from customer service. One person assembly, I put the back in the frame alone, than pinned the bottom in. Just got it put together so will see how it holds up. Very comfortable and sitting high enough so I don't feel like I am sinking to the floor. After two months had a weight bearing board break, the board has knot in it so it was a weak spot, manufacturer defect. Contacted customer service, explained what I had they sent out a new frame, received it in less than a week. If they had a king size futon I might replace my bed. Very happy with both the product and support

I purchased this product just a month back. Order details are not clear and when it arrived, it just had the Futon and NOT the mattress. Original order never stated that Mattress to come separate while Order status was showing as 'Delivered' on Amazon site.I had to call Amazon customer service twice to get the details sorted and finally after 10 days mattress arrived.Installation is not easy and hardest part is, one person cannot operate the Futon for opening and closing. Mattress is extremely hard and took 2+ hours to set it and keep it in 'sofa' position. Wanted to return the item and Amazon customer service did not help and directed me to the vendor and vendor expects customer to pack everything in a box and ship it. There is no pickup option. How can a compressed mattress be put in an original box and ship it. I asked Amazon for the credit but they refused.Think twice before you buy it.

The futon wood frame is sturdy. Switching it from ‘sofa’ to bed isn’t easy, many times it takes 2 people. I waited to review the product to provide an honest opinion of the product and quality. The mattress is comfortable but not recommended for pet owners or anyone with small children. While the mattress cover is removable the interior padding doesn’t allow a user to readily remove it for washing. I use a handheld upholstery shampoo vacuum to clean it but I wish the cover would be easier to remove so I could just throw it in the washer. Overall it has held up well… the reason for 3 stars vs 5 is due to convenience.
