Immediate effects, and a bonus: no more elevator-peeing!
My 12-year-old cat recently started sitting down slowly and gingerly, which tipped me off as her starting to experience joint pain (or at least stiffness). I know glucosamine is the first line of defense so I did some quick research and settled on this product, as it's easy to add to her wet food in the morning and the ingredients were all clearly listed. No clue what it tastes like, but my cat doesn't mind it mixed into her food! She's also not a picky eater, so YMMV.Glucosamine generally has an immediate to quick effect on animals experiencing joint stiffness and pain, so I wasn't surprised when she started moving much more naturally that same day. What DID surprise me? Well, some context: A while ago, my cat started standing up from a squat while peeing. It's meant I need sky-high litter boxes, but that is an easy enough sacrifice and since she started doing it at a relatively younger age, I assumed she was doing it for behavioral or simply habitual reasons. Upon starting this supplement, though, she's back to normal urination. I realized that one of the other causes for the elevator butt behavior that experts mention is joint pain; cats who can't balance while squatting or experience pain while doing so will slowly ease up into standing while urinating. She's COMPLETELY stopped this behavior, overnight, which tells me it's likely been joint related all along. I feel so bad for not trying this sooner! If you have a cat with this behavior, I highly encourage you to add a glucosamine supplement to their diet to see if it's actually about their mobility. I didn't suspect it earlier, but cats can be considered 'senior' as young as seven years old, and they age quite subtly. Aside from her joint mobility, my cat acts the same way she did when she was two years old. I'm so glad she's got her full range of motion back; I've got some joint issues of my own and as a bonus, this change in behavior means I get to do a whole lot less scrubbing when I clean her litter box each month!

Great product, difficult packaging
I have found that this supplement has helped my cat. Over the past year and a half my cat has developed a limp, I took her to the vet last year and had an x-ray taken of her right hip. She was in obvious discomfort. The x-ray showed bone on bone rubbing…osteoarthritis, the cartilage in the joint has worn away. Normally, in people, you would treat OA with an anti-inflammatory (ibuprofen or NSAIDs) to help ease the pain and aide in mobility. Anti-inflammatory drugs for cats can be extremely harmful, leaving few treatment options. I had tried CBD for cats, it helped to calm her but did nothing to treat the pain and inflammation in her right hip. Looking for a treatment to help ease her discomfort I tried glucosamine. Glucosamine when combined with chondroitin can help with joint cartilage repair and decrease inflammation and pain. I chose this supplement brand because it had all of the necessary active ingredients for promoting joint health to reduce inflammation and pain, plus it was chicken flavored. My cat hates taking meds and is very particular about what she eats. I had previously tried glucosamine chews on the recommendation of a friend who’s cat loved the chews and had benefited from the supplement, my fur baby would not eat the chews. When giving my fur baby CBD oil I would put it on her paw for her to lick off, this did not work with this supplement (perhaps the oil is thinner and all of it was not staying on her paw). The manufacturer recommends adding the oil supplement to your fur babies food (or placing directly in the animals mouth). My cat only eats dry food, but she also eats a small portion of home cooked chicken each evening. I add it to her home cooked chicken, it adds moisture (and flavor) to the boiled chicken which tends to be dry. I’m thrilled that she willingly eats it up, instead of me having to force it into her mouth.I have given this product four stars due to packaging. I have read other reviews complaining about the same issue with the dropper. The dropper has some sort of childproof, push down and twist open top. It’s difficult to use and last night I couldn’t open it at all, no matter how hard I tried!! I had to take out pliers to finally get it open! Very frustrating! Additionally, the dropper measurement accuracy is flawed. The dropper does not fill completely to the 1ml line. I am a nurse and I have plenty of experience dispensing meds, I know how to use a dropper system. The inability to accurately measure and dispense 1ml of supplement is not due to user error or inexperience, it is due to a flawed product. The dropper measurement issue is workable….fill it twice instead of once…the inability to open it easily is an issue when you need to use a plier for assistance. I have struggled with opening this bottle from day one, but last night’s struggle was crazy!Overall, this is a great supplement for my cat and I would have given it five stars had the packaging been easier to use. Perhaps the manufacturer can work on the packaging issue.

Using as preventative for my older dog
I bought these because my older dog started to show some signs of hip problems (struggling to jump on the couch, shakey legs while squatting) so I bought some these hip and joint treats to help! Easy for me because my dog thinks they are a treat and eats it quickly, they seem to be helping her joints, so she can stay nice and spry!

This once great product took a turn for the worst!
This product , had a good effect on my boy's health. The last 6 bottles (I use 5ml everyday, so I go through it quickly) have been expired, there is a blue sticky strip that matches the package, I believe it is used to conceal the expired date. The product as shown in the picture looks like muddy water. Things happen once in a while, like a bad batch, BUT I have sent back at least 6 bottles, most from Amazon. I reached out to the company, they do return my calls, I had to send them pictures of how bad the liquid looks ( it should be a clear golden color, like olive oil). They sent me 2 bottles, both were expired and the same brownish cloudy color. They did check to see if the formula was changed, it was not. I called the company again to tell them as I expected...the bottles they sent me were expired and the same muddy, cloudy color, they are supposed to get back to me. They seem caring and professional, but as of this moment nothing has been resolved. So I am waiting to see why this product is going off of their shelves EXPIRED and COVERED to conceal it. I am sad this was a great product. What happened Huggables!!!!???? Has anyone had the same problem and have you found a comparable formula for your pet, I would love to hear! Thank you!
