Reliable and economical
Admittedly, I was a bit dubious about these calipers. But for the price I decided to try it. The calipers arrived in good shape. A nice, hard plastic case was included. The calipers seemed to be rather well constructed of steel. With the look and feel passing muster, now on to seeing if they would perform accurately. I measured several items of known size with these calipers and also with a set I already had that were known to be accurate. Results were the same measurements on all items with both sets of calipers. Not bad for an inexpensive set of calipers. With that said, how long will these things hold up? We'll just have to wait and find out.Edit: One week later. I've been using this set of calipers for the last week. They seem like they will hold up. If not, then I'll use it for a fly swatter replete with plastic hard case.

Premium quality caliper
Works perfectly as I expected. I love the case that comes in as well.

Scratchy action. It could be smoother. Barebones plastic case, but still a nice addition.
I needed to zero the dial, but it's easy and it's been holding. The sliding action and wheel are very scratchy on mine. It's not a pleasant experience to use compared to my more expensive ones which are responsive and smooth. It needs cleaning and lubrication. Some of the machined edges have burrs and are sharp. The included case is a nice touch, but it smells and has no inside padding. Overall it's as expected for the price, and I'm content having these to go along with a pair of digital calipers.

Good Quality Dial Caliper
Most calipers I see are digital these days and I was pleased to see this dial caliper available. The caliper seems well made, it slides well when rotating the wheel - I do not detect any slippage. It has a couple of screws, one that can be tightened to hold the position when taking a measurement so it doesn't move once set and one to help zero the dial. Zeroing the dial is simple, you just need to loosing the screw on the dial, rotate the glass until the zero mark lines up with the needle when the caliper is fully closed, then tighten the screw holding the dial in place. The scale and the dial are clear and easy to read, the black markings of the dial have good contrast against the white background. I tried several measurements on things such as weed eater string, a small handle and other items. The measurements seem consistent, I did have a little variation, but the variation I noticed could easily be in the material I was measuring since these materials do not require high tolerances. Once calibrated the caliper seems to stay zero'ed for a while, nevertheless it is always good to verify your calibration often when exactness is required. The case seems to be sturdy and well made as well, the only complaint I would have about the case is that it is a one-piece case with flex hinges, two-piece cases generally outlast the one piece design, nevertheless it is functional and provides protection to the caliper. I found the caliper to be reliable, useful and well made.
