While the idea seems great the actual product just doesn't work
While the idea seems great the actual product just doesn't work. The ice cubes if you get it to make any at all are tiny and melt quickly. The plastic insert will not come out easily once frozen and that's probably because there's a big circle of ice in the bottom of the container where it's filtered down from the holes where it should be making ice cubes. Filling it...well there's tiny holes around the edges but more water seems to spill over the edges than anywhere else. It really is a complete waste of money. I honestly would give it no stars if that option was available.

Ice Genie Cube Maker Dual-use
Initially a little difficult to remove the inner lining to release the ice cubes but worked well once trick learnt. Make sure you leave sufficient room to stand Ice cube maker upright in freezer.

Dont belive the ad
you may have seen the ad like I did and be tempted . Do NOT BUY . It is a total waste of money if not short of false advertising . You con not fill it without water falling to the bottom . The principle does not work. It requires a water tight seal around the wall of the outside and this does not happen. Water just pools in the bottom creating a slab of ice. Plus the ice that forms is so small is just turns to slush. Trust me just use an ice cube tray

GOOD BUT
It is very very good BUT it is hard to remove the ice as you need to tip it into a bowl and then back into the thing and it makes really small ice cubes

Terrible.
Do not use these. They are useless.Firstly the "ice cubes" are tiny, about 2cm. More like an ice flake.2ndly as you try and fill them water will just leak out into the centre. So half of it will be empty. If you've managed to freeze any, getting the centre part out is a really struggle. And finally ice left in the centre compartment will freeze together into a single block. So you may aswell buy an ice pick aswell because you'll need it.

Good idea
Good idea but bigger than expected so don’t fit the caravan freezer

Read the Reviews before purchasing
Sadly I have to agree with all other reviews the ICE Genie we have lets the water from the side come up from the bottom of the inner 'tube' and therefore we cannot use it, good idea but a waste of our money

DOesn't really work. Nice idea which could work if made properly but it isn't.
Doesn't really work. The inner cylinder isn't water tight and hence all the water seeps into the main compartment so you essentially get one large ice disc (which I've been smashing into shards and using that way instead). It's kind of a waste of space in the freezer too, if you have a small one, as the inner chamber isn't really big enough to store anything, if you fill it with ice cubes then the seepage problem merely leads to having one big solid ice-blob.This is simply a rip off. I reckon a functioning version could be developed but hey, Consumerism.
