It's been years I have searched for ways to keep the water in our food trucks from freezing during the winter months or at least during the operation hours. Went from using floor heater to heated cables to keep the pipes warm. Finally found a different use for this Sprinkler Timer. My set-up seem to work very well so I thought I share with people who could use this technique. Basically, from my tankless water heater (any water heater), the hot water will go to the hot side of the sink, but I also added the T connector so one side can be used as a way to drain out the water from the pipe when I'm done for the day. With that drain pipe, I connected this Sprinkler Timer so that every two hours, it opens up which trigger the pump to pump the water through the water heater. Since the sinks are not being used, the only way hot water can get out is through this sprinkler which feeds the hot water back to the clean tank. It keeps the water in the tank warm, it replaced the cold water in the pipe. That cycle repeats throughout the day. Note: I also create shut-off valves for both hot and cold water line so I can shut-off which ever line I don't need. It works nicely for my purpose and I hope this help.This timer allow you to set for how often it needs to open, how long, and starting time, etc. For the "how long" setting, tight now the smallest unit is 1 minute long, I wish there's away to adjust it for just 30 seconds. But, it was created for maintaining your lawn so it makes sense. I hope this help.

This timer is well-built and easy to use, with a straightforward setup and reliable performance. It works great for most watering needs, and I appreciate the overall design and durability. However, I was hoping it would offer more flexibility when it comes to ultra-short watering cycles.For my specific setup with misters, I need the ability to run the water for just a few seconds at a time—ideally as little as 3 seconds—but the shortest duration available is longer than that. It would be perfect if it allowed for shorter intervals.That said, if you’re using this for standard irrigation or drip systems, it’s a solid product. Just something to keep in mind if you’re planning to use it with misters or foggers that require very short bursts of water.

This is the first automatic timer that I was able to setup without the manual. The dial is very intuitive and so are the button controls. I setup my daily watering program in couple of minutes.Mind you, this is not a waterproof unit. It's weatherproof with an IP rating of IP54. The battery door is sealed but the front buttons are not. This is meant to place under eaves or under cover but it's weatherproof enough to withstand a light sprits of water here and there. Your best option is to take a plastic bag and cover it if it is left unprotected outside. This will help keep it clean, dust free, and dry in wet weather.With that said, I use this for a birdbath that I made. It's located in a patio away from the elements and I hooked it up with a rainbird drip system. It fills the birdbath every day for 1 minute every 6 hours. The runoff goes into a planter beneath.The threads are plastic so don't overtighten but it does come with a quick release, some Teflon tape, a filter, and an extra washer.Overall, it's a nice inexpensive drip timer that does what I need it to do without having to pay extra for everything I don't need. Just remember, this isn't a waterproof unit so try to keep it dry and clean! I knew this prior to purchase so buyer beware. If you need full waterproofing, this is NOT the unit for you.

This simple product arrives in compact packaging, and basic instructions are clear and easy. Only problem was that the first one we received would program okay, but the actuating relay flat-out did not work, right out of the box. No "click" and no valve open/close. This seems to be a recurring issue with this particular unit, judging by the reviews. We initiated a return and asked for a replacement, which arrived in 2 days. The second unit functions properly, and we are pleased with it (so far). I will be keeping a close watch on it, however, as it was purchased to effect watering of the garden at our weekend place, which we monitor by camera while at our primary residence. If anything goes wrong, it is not a quick trip out to address it.Pros: Easy installation and programming, low cost.Cons: Plastic fittings (vice brass) and the manual override (for watering between programmed times) defaults to a paltry 10 minutes. Dunno if that is adjustable, but if it is, it is not intuitive (I hate trying to decipher tiny print in broken English in instruction manuals).
