I wish these were just a wee bit bigger.
These are handy for estimating a composition layout. my only real complaint is that I would like these to be a bit bigger, so they would match the size of the LCD screen on the back of my camera - that would make them perfect.

Not just for photography
Not just for photographyI do plein air painting and still life compositions, and these are great for deciding how to compose your layout. Much better than those cheap little plastic ones where you have to place a rubber band to mark your place. The size stores and fits easily in your hand, is precision etched onto a crystal clear acrylic sheet, and looks like a premium product.Just a note: the product images also show a rule of thirds card, but you’d have to buy that separately with a different set.

Near way to explore composition
This was a bit difficult to look through my non art inclined boyfriend. But really you look at the glass and see where the shapes line up along the marks on the little glass rectangle. I wouldn’t say it’s the most practical but it can help demonstrate these concepts if teaching a lesson.

Nice little tool!
These are fun to keep in my wallet or camera bag. Not the most necessary if you know how to compose a shot, but a fun aid! It's nice to find your angles without holding your eye up to the lens. If you however don't know how to compose a shot these would be INCREDIBLY helpful! They're as sturdy as they need to be but could easily break if you sat on them wrong or something like that.

For my Plein air kit!
I really love these for my Plein air kit! They work really well to compose paintings when you can’t figure out how to get it just right!

Cool idea
I'm not a photographer but I do love taking pics, and also am an artist...but in addition to that I spend most of my time studing spiritual and esoteric concepts including Sacred Geometry... I think it's really important for us as humans to understand how recoginizing patterns is recognizing the fingerprint of god, and the simple act of learning to see patterns and shapes and understand the rhythms of nature and the cosmos can truly help us achieve a deeper understanding of the universe within us, from where we create our entire lives and beyond. Will these little clear rectangles that fit in my wallet help me to do that? I like to think so! I am looking forward to using these next time I'm creating a drawing or painting to try to incorporate more of these sacred proportions and create layouts that aren't just more visually appealing and balanced, but are expressing a beauty that is far beyond anything I could invent myself, but the beauty of the nature around and within us. If you are intrigued by sacred geometry, I highly recommend the teachings of Dr. Robert Edward Grant, but in the meantime, I think if schools were equipping children with tools like this, we would be raising much more balanced and well rounded humans who would learn to think and see the world with a much higher perspective than we have been allowing ourselves to have for many many years now in this society. Eyes to see! <3
