Not sure about the ability to soften but my hair feels softer.

The only thing I wish it would last longer than the average 3 months

This filter has transformed my water quality. It is soft and my shower now has no limes ale and is so easy to clean. I also use less soap and shampoo because the water is softer. Fantastic quality as well.

These things dont really filter anything but as a placebo effect it works great.

I was actually able to notice that after I bought this product my hair loss decreased, so this product really works by filtering the water from strong chlorine. Recommend

I have used a couple of these now and I'm feeling like I wasted my money.I'll start by saying we have hard water in our house, which is why we bought these filters. This review comes in on the third of these that we have used.These filters come as white, and within weeks seem to go a nasty brown colour. In one of my images you can see the difference between one that has been installed for 3 weeks vs one which is new out of the pack.I'm convinced they aren't making a difference -it feels no different, so on this changeover I decided to buy a water hardness tester. I started by taking the filters out and collecting the water to measure the hardness, the result was the second to last on the water-hardness scale - we used a couple sample testers to verify the result.After installing the new water filters and running the water for 15 minutes, I then collected another tub of water to test with. The result was exactly the same, with no difference in the water hardness.It is now 8 days later and I've taken a photo of that same white filter in the state it is in now inside the shower head. It's already going brown very quickly as you can see from the image.In conclusion these water filters simply don't work. Where we were aiming to get softer water we just ended up spending money for nothing (other than a very nasty coloured filter in the shower head).We are going to try the filtration balls next to see if they are also a gimmick.

This is 2nd one I purchased (one for each shower). I was amazed how different the water felt once it was fitted - like silk. The first one has been going for nearly 5 months and haven't needed to change the cartridge yet.
