The higher model has an electailgate, larger infotainment screen and wireless Apple/Google Carplay. I dont need a larger screen or electric tailgate so this wireless usb Dongle, which tucks away out of sight converts the car to Wireless Carplay, using the data on tour phone, which is very little for Apps, Navigation and Media.

Very slow to connect, when it sometimes does connect. It somehow lost my Land Rover app, so I couldn't switch between carplay and vehicle. This happened after 2 days of use. Tried update, nothing. It now resides in a drawer. Money wasted.

This device saved so much hassle, I was struggling to make CarPlay work. But once I connected this it was working within 2 minutes and so easy to use. Don’t dither around if you’re having troubles connecting CarPlay just but this IT WORKS

Works as you would expect

So I was having a great deal of trouble with my car media player not responding to my phone/voice etc and I thought this would solve all my problems. It works intermittently at best. If you have an iPhone and you have a ‘driving focus’ set , then this will need to be deleted along with anything else that locks out phone interaction. In my case , this was preventing Siri from working with this dongle. I have also found that once a WiFi /5G connection has been secured, and Bluetooth has connected, it is best to manually turn on Car Play as a lot of the time Car Play does not auto connect. When it works, this is a good little device, when it doesn’t it’s very frustrating. Probably best used in conjunction with high end car media receivers for full functionality
