Good quality hitch. Instructions were weak but if you are mechanically inclined it’s not too tough. Did not have to drop the muffler as suggested in the instructions. The center cover completely covers the hitch when not in use. It replaces the factory bumper structure.

We recently entered the Jeep family with a Compass Trailhawk as my daily driver and a my wife's Grand Cherokee L. She downsized from a Ram Limited and for the most part has loved everything about her new Jeep. BUT why Jeep makes a vehicle without a trailer hitch is beyond me and she was shocked. We picked this up to remedy that situation. The mechanic said it was a quality product that fit perfectly and was somewhat easy to install. Even with paying the mechanic, this was a great deal compared to what the dealer wanted.

I did go and purchase other nuts and bolts as I just didn’t feel comfortable not knowing the brand what the quality of their hardware was going to be. I am sure, it’s fine. I was just over cautious.The tubing was a heavy gauge, and any welded joint seemed to be solid and secure. You will need another person to assist to make it easier but, using jacks and jack stands, you can do It by yourself. Just be careful and safe.

This is an extremely solid, well thought out trailer hitch for the GCL but it's not for your average user. This is going to take a skilled mechanic an hour to install and requires a large amount of the rear body panels to be removed to install. If you don't know body panels, auto mechanics, etc you could easily find yourself in a situation where you can't install it and may even ruin parts of your car. Either know what you're doing, or plan on consulting a mechanic to install this. With that said I am extremely happy with the product and would recommend it to anyone that keeps those guide lines in mind.

This Class III Trailer Hitch could be a solid option for your Jeep Grand Cherokee L (3-Row) because it can handle a good amount of weight, it's designed for your specific Jeep, and it's easy on the wallet. The install will take some time as there is a lot to remove but that is not the receivers fault. Overall its fairly priced and works well.
