Very disappointed with this product
Very disappointed with this product. I bought it as my first turntable expecting big things as it was about £50+ more expensive than most other turntables I looked at - however the turntable was very wobbly and this caused a scratching sound on some records. I contacted Crosley to try and fix it but their advice yielded no results. The style of it was nice and rustic, but the actual turntable and surrounding platform and arm seemed very cheap and 'plasticy' - not high quality as the price would suggest. The speakers were also very 'tinny' and the records sounded much better played through actual speakers. I wouldn't mind if the product had been less than half the price but for £180 there are tonnes more better quality products out there.

Pretty turntable with amazing sound
I bought this turntable last week for my mother in law, as she has seen it online and it was her birthday. She got attracted to it as it just looks AMAZING with its beautiful cloth. I first thought it might look good but the sound will be bad - but when I got it and tried it out, I realized that it not only looked good, it also sounded amazing.I am really into turntables and normally (for myself) would only buy a direct driven turntable without built in speakers, but this was a present. And honestly, this sounds at least as good as my £ 249.00 turntable from another well known manufacturer and I am seriously thinking of getting one of the Crosley's myself now.The other thing which she really loves is the fact that you can close the lid whenever you want and it just looks like a pretty suitcase. She closes the lid when she is out at work so her little cheeky cat cant step on it.The other cool little feature is the headphone jack which you can use if you want to listen to your music not via the speakers but through headphones. My mother in law has tried it only once but she loved that as well, sound quality was as good as through the speakers. To summarize, I would recommend anyone to buy this little gem - it not only looks beautiful, but also sounds beautiful!

Good points: a
Good points:a. Pleasantly surprised with sound quality as distinct from volume & toneb. Good cartridge from a respected manufacturerc. Unit has clean lines and is well assembledd. The unobtrusive cloth finish works well in most environmentsAreas requiring improvement:a. A larger than 7” platter to better support 12” recordsb. A larger case so lid does not require removing to play 12” recordsc. A device for lowering & lifting needleAnd remember to switch off the auto stop button if you don’t want singles, that are more than circa 3 minutes, to end prematurely!

Had expected a better sound quality for the money
Returned this item as the records continually jumped towards the end of play. Had expected a better sound quality for the money. Item looks nice but that only counts so far. Also took a long time to arrive.
