This is a brass cup. Just like it says in the ad. I guess because I was thinking of a julep cup I was thinking silver. There is one silver finished one offered, and if I had it to do over again I might have ordered that instead, but I do like the hammered brass finish. The cup has a pad on the bottom to protect finishes. I was a little surprised that the pad made it through the dishwasher OK, but it did.

Handcrafted julep cups are difficult to perfect that is for sure. These cups look better on the outside than the inside. It could use some better polishing up on the inside, especially around the bottom edge where there is some kind of dark colored grime. or just some better refined workmanship. I don't think I will drink from this cup. Even though the bottom is having an insulated foam bottom to keep it from sweating and help keep it cool.Good looking cups, but if you want to actually use these cups be prepared to have to do some finish work. Great for decoration though.

This beautiful brass mint julep cup features an eye catching hammered finish. The solid brass cup is lined with velvet on the bottom of the cup to minimize table wear. A well made and huge cup that will hold a good bit. Really nice for single malts over whiskey stones- there is little danger of breaking or cracking with this cup.

These are nice, well made cups. I use them for decoration because they are very pretty.
