My coworkers and I had lots of fun playing this game! At first, we were a bit skeptical, because we had what looked like a very colorful pack of cards but not much more. The mechanics are really simple to understand though and once we got the hang of it, it turned out to be a very strategic game where you could never rest on your laurels as anyone can grab the lead position with just one well timed move. Each round is pretty quick, 10-15 mins max, and if you’re playing with competitive people who like to keep score, it can mean hours of entertainment!

We have the full edition to the game, but the box is a bit big to pop in your purse. This edition is much smaller, has less cards but plays just as well! One of our favorite games for both my 8 and 6 year old

We played this game as two adults (and it’s always nice to find a game for two people, so many are 3 players+). The rules are genuinely pretty simple; you have two different options for your turn, either try and score cards from your own ‘tank’ or take a chance at stealing from someone else’s. I haven’t played the full game so I don’t know how much this differs but I don’t feel it’s missing anything, it was great fun and fairly quick so would make an excellent travel game. The cards are excellent quality and I really love the illustrations. It’s a really quirky but loveable game.

Mastering Mantis involves not only understanding your own cards but also strategically monitoring your opponents' cards to make informed decisions about 'scoring' or 'stealing.'Similar to Exploding Kittens' other compact card games, Mantis features durable, high-quality cards ideal for travel, ensuring longevity and enjoyment wherever you play. Once we got the hang of it, we had a blast exploring its strategic depths and competitive twists.
