The jar and prices were worth the price. I really like the black knife thing.

My husband told me my starters weren’t working because of not having a jar so I ordered this and somehow it saved my starter and it’s so nice to be able to track volume, temp and so fourth. Love this product.

This kit has all the essentials for beginners with a decent size jar for growing starter to make multiple batches of bread or other sourdough recipes.

This "kit" lacks basic instructions. I had to go back the advertisement to ascertain the use of components that were included. It also lacked basic recipes which are necessary for beginners. The need for yeast and flower also makes this not a full kit for those getting started. All of the elements in this kit can be found in a kitchen or easily made. One really just need a cylinder jar and some elastics, along with a few kitchen tools and you got the kit. I really believe that this is over priced for what it is. If it was any more expensive I think this would have been a 3 start.

We've always talked about doing our own sourdough but was not sure where to start. Now with this kit it is easy. Literally whatever you may need is already there in the kit. Super easy! Now when its time we will see what kind of sourdough creations we can bake.

I've been considering getting into sourdough for a while now, but I found it a bit daunting. I finally decided to get myself in gear and I got this kit. It is one of the most complete starter kits that I've seen and it has some very nice features. The Jar itself is a nice thick glass with some weight to it so I have little concern about breaking it when I'm handling it. There are markings both printed on, and moulded into the glass that give a good indication of the progress of the starter, and the band that goes around has a full week printed on it; simply line up the date and time of the feeding with the line on the jar and there's no question when I fed last. The cloth top allows the starter to breathe when it's on the counter while protecting the starter from flies and accidental contamination. The silicone base not only protects the jar from impact with my granite countertop while feeding, but also serves as a cover once the starter is ready to go into the fridge. The long sturdy silicone spatula is perfect for stirring the starter when it's feeding time and the stick-on thermometer is perfect for ensuring the temperature is in the right range, and it's large enough that it's easy to read quickly even with my failing eyesight. My one complaint about this set is that there are no instructions, so when I unboxed it, I was initially confused by the collection of items and how they all worked together. However, a quick google search for "sourdough starter from scratch" answered all of my questions. If you're thinking about sourdough and are intimidated by the "complexity", I would encourage you to go for it; it's actually quite simple to get going and this kit is definitely going to simplify the process!

I’m very pleased with this kit.I started experimenting with Sourdough starter during covid(as many did🤪) using a mason jar, masking tape & no fancy tools.This kit is so fun! I like the adjustable time band.This is a great gift idea for house warming, weddings etc. My only complaint is that it doesn’t come with an instruction/recipes booklet for anyone brand new to this.Overall, it’s a decent set at $39.98

Envious but also a little terrified of trying it yourself. Our excuse to avoid trying to make it has always been that we lack the equipment to get a starter going and growing. Now we have no more excuses.This kit is like a sourdough nursery in a box. The only thing missing is a recipe. I did find this a little disappointing at first, and it also offered us a new excuse for a day but then my Wife looked up sourdough starter recipes on line and - Poof! - there goes our last excuse.We are still experimenting with sourdough ourselves and we did have a few oopsies along the way but nothing disastrous. Nor were the mistakes anything to do with the tools in this kit. As our house runs to the cooler side of things, we finally found a nice warm spot for the starter on top of the refrigerator. For this very reason, I am extremely thankful for the inclusion of the cloth cover.All in all, this has been a fun journey and my Wife and I have enjoyed making, feeding, and growing our sourdough starter. She has become very ingenious finding new ways to use the castoff from the starter. YouTube has been an invaluable resource. I recommend this sourdough kit to those who are experiencing the same trepidation we had as well as to those who are seasoned Boyle's looking to upgrade their tools. I think this kit has every single sourdough starter tool you could want and few you may not realize you need. My only complaint is that a sourdough starter recipe was not included for us newbies.In the event that experiences change or evolve, updates may be made to this review to address such developments.

This is really a great collection of tools to get one started with sourdough bread.I will give this 5 stars because of all the things included and the really nice quality if everything, although I do wish that the set would have contained one more thing: a small recipe book with instructions, step by step, so that I don’t have to go online to look for what do I have to do next every day.The jar is 1000 ml capacity And large mouth so it’s very easy to reach inside. The small scraper has a straight edge just like the tall jar and it works perfectly.The wisk is a flat style, which I never had before, and by the way it works extremely well for foaming eggs or egg whites too. The lids one is cloth and one is silicone, the silicone one can function as a stabilizing base as well.There is also a pack of blades and a nice wood handle for scoring your bread.I am so impressed with this kit, especially in the light if the quality of the items included. These are not just “filler” items, but actually good useful things, and it would cost more to buy them separately.Very much recommended5 starsThank you

My first sourdough kit only contained a glass jar, feeder band, cloth cover and spurtle. This kit takes it up a notch by adding a dough whisk, dough scraper and fermentation tracker tape.The quality is also higher with the glass jar in this set. Not as delicate as the other one which is good because it’s nice knowing a gentle accidental tale against a granite counter won’t chip or shatter it.All the other items in the kit are also solid quality and it really does have what you need to get started.Now that I have two my niece is going to come over and we are going to work on a sourdough starter together because she has been wanting to try it and she’s an amazing baker 🤗For the price of $30 (after $5 coupon discount) this is a great set and I would recommend it for any beginner to sourdough starters.
