Easy to install and work great on my Thule Cross Bars

At a way better price than OEM, these fit fine in my rack. Had to play with them a bit to get it to cooperate but I’m sure the OEM would be the same game.

Pretty good. They should at least put the key code on the lock in case you lose the key.

They are sorta cheap and hard to insert but I doubt the ones from thule are much different. They are just to keep the face plate on the mounts so its wouldn't take much to steal the roof rack. Like all locks it's about keeping honest people honest. If someone really wants to steal your stuff they will do it no matter what lock you have. These are good enough and way cheaper than the ones thule offers

The trapezoid shaped part of this that serves as the lock is a couple millimeters smaller than an actual Thule cylinder. In the case of a locking knob, the aftermarket one slips before it if fully tightened. I can get 3-4 more turns with an actual Thule cylinder before it slips. With the knob being the primary thing that keeps my bike rack from bouncing down the highway, I want it as tight as possible.

The media could not be loaded. I ordered two sets of replacement lock cores for THULE and YAKIMA. I intended to try to rekey them so I can use the same key for all my accessories across both brands but I came across a lucky coincidence? Both sets were already keyed alike!!! Good for me and my purposes but makes me wonder....Anyways, the keys and cores works in both, but they did need a little fine tuning. The lock pin at the end of the core doesn't fully retract to line up with the core body so if you force it into the cylinder, it will work but you will never be able to get them back out again. To solve this I needed to file down that last pin so that it doesn't stick out past the core body. Simple fix if you have a couple of files or a dremel.

OVERALL:Got these to replace the locks on my Thule T2 bike rack. While they seem just a little cheaper than the original locks, they do work perfectly, and they were easy to install.QUALITY:As mentioned above, these are a half-step down from the original equipment, but still great locks at a great value. They hold securely and unlock smoothly with the included key.INSTALLATION:I had no trouble at all installing these lock cylinders. The tricky part was removing the old locks, since I didn't have the original keys. I was able to shim the originals and turn them to the unlock position (a necessary step for removal). These come with an "installation key" which looks like just a blank key. However, it's specially designed to insert deeper than the key and open the retaining tab. It might take some extra force to fully insert the key and move this tab. Slapping it on the table definitely worked. You will then need to hold the cylinder in place while removing the "installation key" to complete the install. Then you're done, and you operate with the key, as normal. NOTE: The key and installation key are designed with a different keyway configuration than my original locks. So they will not go into the original locks.APPEARANCE:These locks look good, have a brushed finish, and seem to be corrosion and rust-resistant. The key looks and feels good, and fits on my keychain perfectly.VALUE:This is the best part! These locks are a great price compared to the originals, and work great. So the value on this item is definitely great. I highly recommend these as replacements for your compatible Thule equipment.
