Yeah with the right pitch sprocket.

Why dose it go faster backwards? do i have it on wrong ? it goes pretty fast forward but takes of really slow but yet i can do a burnout backwards

You have it being driven the wrong direction. Reverse is a lower gear then forward gear.

Will this work with a 20hp vertical shaft engine?

Says up to 10hp. So your taking your chances. Be prepared for a lot of fabricating
