Solid telescope stand - updated review
This is a very sturdy and solid tripod. The price is reasonable considering the next size up is nearly double the price. For my sized telescope, this tripod is fine. The only issue I had is with the bar (purchased separately) that connects to my telescope and then connects to the tripod. This is not a knock on the tripod but rather the company (Orion) selling that bar and stating it fits this tripod. Not so. Orion's website is slightly misleading about that. I was able to make this work. Just beware when purchasing any tripod.Update October 2022.This tripod failed a few months after I set it up. I made sure my Orion Startblast 6 was within the weight limit. But, over a short period of time the controls for movement broke. I've been manually moving the telescope myself for the past two years. This is definitely not worth it. I am now finally getting back to researching a much better telescope tripod.

The other reviews are somewhat inaccurate...
Comparatively to the Meade and Celestron AZ tripods, it’s just a sturdy/steady, if not more so. I found the slow-motion controls useful. The tripod is easy to assemble and has a tray that holds four eyepieces. The mount ships with two retention bolts for dovetail side-mounts. Use the correct one, to properly secure your scope! Don’t expect to load a telescope of greater than a 90 mm refractor or 114 mm reflector (130 mm would be really pushing it), it’s not meant for anything more. All in all, it’s a neat package, and easy to haul about the backyard. This product is not an exclusive to Orion, as it is a tripod that ships with a lot of Cassini & Galileo (Cosmo Optics) telescopes.

A low-cost, reasonably sturdy tripod compatible with AWB OneSky
The main question I had when I ordered this tripod is whether it is compatible with the Astronomers Without Borders OneSky telescope. And it seems like it is!The tripod seems reasonably sturdy and decently well-made; and I expect the fine tuning allowed by the knobs will make the OneSky much easier to use.If you're buying a brand new telescope, maybe this isn't the combination for you - but if you already have a OneSky and are annoyed by the limitations of the stand it comes with, I think this tripod should be a good option!

Badly designed for astronomy
First the dovetail attachment for the telescope is too wide, but this would not be a problem if the finger knob screw weren’t too short. I will need to go to hardware store and buy long thumb screws to attach my scope to the tripod. Second, the tripod I received had an altitude adjustment that required excessive force to makes any adjustments during viewing, and this causes shackling while viewing. Also the lock down knobs made the tripod move while trying to lock the adjustment knobs. And my tripod came with no instruction manual. This is not what I expected from Orion Telescopes, I am very disappointed!

Does the job.
Was looking for something lighter that my Vixen Porta 2 mount for grab and go purposes. It works well with an Astronomics 80mm refractor, not built as well as the Porta but way lighter.

Not bad for the money
Suitable for small grab-n-go scopes. Lightweight with all the necessary components like slow motion controls. Fairly sturdy. Obviously not high end, but you do get your money's worth.

Not very sturdy, not what I was expecting from Orion.
I was hoping for a tripod that was a little more substantial. One of the screws for the slow motion cables stripped when tightening, also when I have my Celestron C90 Mak on it and adjust the focus the vibration created makes it very difficult to focus, and the slow motion using the supplied cables is not very smoot. . I wish I had purchased Celestron Heavy-Duty Altazimuth Tripod

Stable stand
This is a nice stable stand. For my 12 pound telescope I found it not sufficient for the weight. It has nice slow motion controls strong legs.

Solid and stable
Solid mount holds my 90mm Mak or 127mm Reflector. Fine controls could be smoother in operation but generally a decent qulaity tripod.
