This fits my Dewalt batteries with no trouble. Works great for the 1 1/2" branches I had to cut. Will not replace a gas chainsaw, but for the quick & small jobs it's great.

Let me ve the first reviewer to post that didn't get this for free. I paid for it myself.Centerpoint energy decided that my yard was the most convenient place to dispose of a tree that Hurricane Beryl knocked into our power line. Not my tree but I'm the only yard without a fence. Anyway I bought this because I already have Dewalt batteries and I just hoped that it would last for this one job. This little saw made mince of all those branches and never missed a beat.

You can shut for small jobs if you already have a DeWalt battery handy. I had an aftermarket to Walt brand and that worked just as good as any DeWalt battery did in this. This is a good price for this chainsaw, I believe $59 at time of review. As long as you don't have to replace A Dewalt battery It would then become extremely Expensive. My advice would be to get an aftermarket that it is similar to DeWalt and pay a third of the price.

This thing has some power. Especially using the 60v flex dewalt battery. Lasted a long time and was cutting through many branches from 2"-4" thick. I have complete confidence it will go through even thicker if needed. Def recommend.

This 8" mini chainsaw is light (just over 1-3/4 Lbs). The chain speed is between about 236 and 315 inches per second. The chainsaw has an internal on-demand oiler. The chainsaw has a guard on top to protect you from the chain when the saw is running. The chain is adjusted using a knob on the side of the chainsaw (two nuts need to be loosened before adjusting). This is much more convenient than having to loosen nuts and use a screwdriver to do the actual adjustment.A Dewalt DCB style battery is required. I tested the chainsaw with a DCB207 (1.3 amp-hour) battery. The chainsaw comes with a screw-in support handle, a spare chain, a chain cover, a tool to loosen the chain adjustment locking nuts, a pair of protective glasses, and a well written, very informative manual.A battery, bar and chain oil, or a case/carrying bag are not provided.The chainsaw is well balanced and can be used one-handed (however, the support handle helps stabilize the chainsaw when cutting thicker branches). Cuts on 3" Live Oak branches were smooth and there was no kickback.The addition of an oiler makes this chainsaw really functional. The other chainsaw I have requires you to manually apply the oil to the chain (you have to carry a bottle of oil). Not only does this have you carrying more stuff, the process can be really messy. The oiler in this chainsaw eliminates having to carry oil separately and is much cleaner. Because it is so easy (a press of the oiler bulb), the oiling required for long chain and bar life may happen. Filling the oil pot is simple, screwing off the oil bulb cap exposes the rereservoir. A sighting port on the side of the chainsaw allows the oil level in the reservoir to be seen.I detected no visual or operational defects in manufacturing.

As an entry level mini chain saw, this item will do the job on smaller tasks. I used it for pruning some branches but would not attempt to try to cut through anything more than 4 or 5 inches in diameter. It is light weight, easy to operate and the motor is powerful enough for what you should be using it for. It accepted all the DeWalt batteries that I own but as advertised, it does NOT come with a battery or charger. You must have your own. Although the manufacturer states that there is a safety switch, if you do not engage it and leave it unattended, anyone can start the unit by just pulling the trigger. For this reason I gave it three stars as there should be a two or three stage safety in order to get it to operate so that a child is not capable of accidentally turning it on just by pulling the trigger should the safety button forget to be engaged.
