Nice size
1 or 2 of these are a good size for my igloo 12 pack cooler for a day out depending on the weather. 6 of them keep my food and drinks cold in a 48 qt. cooler for my regular 60+ hour basecamping trips. I was methodically destroying my Rubbermaid containers. For ease of use I fill them halfway and place them in the freezer. I, then, fill them with a glass of water to keep from spilling everywhere. They seem plenty durable and are a great value.

Makes good blocks
The blocks are a great size, great for the price. Just thin and flimsy when you are refilling them, I spill water everywhere, but maybe it is a me problem.

MAKES NICE SIZE ICE BLOCKS FOR ICE BATH
I like the durability of these molds and the size of them. They will help water or a cooler stay cooler longer but will not take forever to melt. They are a good size for smaller ice bath units or a cooler and won't be monstrously huge in the freezer while they are forming ice. This is exactly what I was looking for.

Great Ice Block Molds
Up until now, I'd been using similarly-sized bread pans to make large blocks of ice at home. I use them to help cool my livestock birds (who I treat as pets for the record, they get to live out their lives as comfortably as they can here) in our oppressive summer season. It gets incredibly hot in my region, so blocks of ice placed strategically around their yard is one of the best ways to keep the earthbound birds cool (outside of the more common non-electric methods we have available). The bread pans would inevitably be a pain to extract ice from, requiring tap water run over them in order to allow the ice to melt a bit before they could be taken out of their containers, which takes time and chips away at the overall cooling period, if they're already on their way to melting by the time I get them out and in place. These silicone molds, however, are easy as pie to remove ice from! They are more floppy than the nonstick metal pans, of course, so when you fill them and transport them to the freezer you *do* need to be careful not to slop water everywhere. Thankfully, the ease of removal once the freezing has taken place more than makes up for the wobbly navigation required from sink to freezer. Recommended.
