In fact, you need to attach your monitor before adjusting because the weight (even if seemingly insignificant) makes a difference.Adjustments:I am using it for my guitar/music station. It allows me to stand or sit and still have access to the monitor. I was able to fine-tune all the adjustments for my monitor making it a breeze to arrange in any position I could think of. It will go flat against the wall, up, down, tilt, and swivel. This is a super sturdy design, which is exactly what you want for something holding your flatscreen. It definitely feels like my brick wall will fail before this thing does. It's well thought out and has a good range for motion. I particularly like the ability to easily adjust the spring tension on the various joints so that your monitor stays where you want it.It's easy to install, works well and is rock solid. Hard to ask for anything more.

I daughter wanted to rearrange her room and there was no decent place to put her monitor. Having recently used a wall mounted swing arm in my room off to Amazon for another!The swing arm allows her to watch it over her desk when she wants, push it out of the way when she is drawing, and move it a little closer when shes watching Netflix on her bed.This arm feels solid. I have 22 pounds on it and it doesn't care. Side-to-side adjustment is limited due to the width of this monitor, but it has a reasonable amount of movement. It certainly fits our application and won't hesitate to hang more weight on it if she upgrades.

I have a relatively heavy 32" monitor that is older, and this monitor arm can easily handle it. My monitor is over 20 pounds, and this arm is rated at up to 44, which is a very large weight for a modern screen. This should have ample capacity for even the largest ultrawide monitors. The center bolt design on the wall plate is perfect for stud installation and easy to level. The monitor plate is thicker than most arms I have used and is rigid when holding the monitor. The tension adjustments allow for the monitor weight to be dialed in for the correct resistance. The design is sleek and rounded edges.

I've researched plenty of heavy-duty monitor mounts for my 49" Samsung monitor, and they are either too expensive or not strong enough. My monitor is heavier than the newest versions as it has a built-in power supply. This mount was super easy to mount to the wall, assemble, and adjust. It has an excellent range of adjustments, and I love that it no longer takes up desk space. If I get another 49" monitor to replace the two monitors on top, I will gladly get another one of these mounts.
