Impressed
I have an older Autel OBD2 reader that's about 10 years old. While it still works great, it's very basic in its functionality. It will only give you a list of codes and let you reset them. You have to write down those codes and look them up to figure out what they are. This new OBD2 scanner has a lot more functions, and best of all, it will tell you what the code means when it's displayed. You can also view live diagnostics while your vehicle is running. This is a tool that I dreamed of owning for quite awhile, they used to be extremely expensive, something that you couldn't justify owning unless you worked full time as a mechanic. As technology got better, these became a lot more affordable. As someone who likes diagnosing simple issues and codes, this scanner works great for me. Sure, there are still way better scanners out there if you're really wanting to do a deep dive on your diagnostics and spend a lot more money, but for my purposes, it's perfect. There are some functions on the scanner that did not work for my vehicle due to compatibility issues, but I'm not certain if it's because my SUV is really old (2001 Toyota Sequoia) or that it's issues with the scanner itself, my guess is because my car is now 23 years old. For reading and diagnosing codes, and viewing live diagnostics, this scanner is all you need.

Good for DIY users
I got this as a backup of sorts. I have other tools and tech programs so I got this to do quick sorter tests. It has a good screen size and is easy to use. It gives general trouble code information. I did not expect in depth from this reader as it is not meant for professional repair techs. It is for home use and it is very good for that usage. You can monitor sensors and clear codes so it is handy for DIY people. I can use my other programs for more in depth results and use this reader to get the basic issues identified.I recommend this reader for anyone that works on their own vehicles. It can do a lot of basic stuff and show you what could be wrong so you can address the issues yourself.

Great tool for the weekend mechamic
Some of us pine for the days you didn't need a tool like this to fix your car. Oh for the basic carbureted engine!!Well those days are gone, and now you need a computer to read your computer which diagnoses your car. And those tools always seemed expensive, forcing you to head to a mechanic, who had the need to own one, just to find out what the idiot light on your dashboard was trying to tell you. This little beauty is that tool, and it costs not too much at all (it was around $50 when I ordered it). Plugs into your car's dash easily and lets you flip through the menu to find out a wide array of info about your vehicle. This will make your self diagnosis for your car easy, and perhaps allow you to do work you'd have pawned off on an (expensive) mechanic prior to this. Good screen. Easy interface. Affordable. You'll like this. Really!!

Great Diagnostic Tool
A great tool for diagnosing car codes. Carries more features than the one I can borrow from the auto parts store. It plugged in easily and was easy to scroll through the functions. I can now find out what is going on with my vehicle when the check engine light comes on. One time, I brought the car to my mechanic, only to find out that the check engine light pointed to the "evap system" code he pulled up on his coding gizmo, which in turn led him to figure out that the gas cap had not been screwed on tightly enough. Now, I will not need to make unnecessary trips of that nature. When I got this, the price was $49.99. The price has fallen since, by $10, making this an item most can afford.

Nice scanner
This unit operates quickly, fetches codes fast. Screen is easy to see and navigate. The live sensors and mode 6 are handy. At this price point this is a good unit, I've paid the same at autoparts stores and got worse.
