I often misplaced my other ice bath thermometer and had thought I lost my previous one. So I grabbed this one that is actually much easier to keep track of due to the star it sets in. I ended up recently find my other one which I believe is the same unit, minus the foam star. For me, I now use the foam star simply so I don't misplace the other one. Sadly, it has the same issue as my previous one with rust appearing around the screws. Would be a great improvement to add little rubber plugs to go over the screws. As mentioned in the title, there is a constant .1, someone .2 difference in temperature (higher), but I think this is due to it not settling further into the water. I usually hold it half way underwater when trying to get an accurate temperature, so it's sorta negligible.

Worked for awhile, but then never changed temps. Customer service reached out to offer a replacement. New one is working well. Very happy this company stood by their product even after Amazon's return policy!

AMAZING THERMOMETERI have found the thermometer to be accurate, closely matching the temperature readings from my chiller. It takes between 1 minute and 10 seconds to 2 minutes and 30 seconds to display the initial temperature, which I do not mind.TIMER FLAWSThe problem I am having is that the timer is not as convenient or consistent as I thought it would be.The timer starts counting immediately when I check the temperature before my ice bath, which is useful for ensuring I know the exact temperature before starting my cold plunge. However, while I can reset the timer by holding the thermometer out of the water, it does not always recognize when it has been removed and just continues counting.At times, I manually reset the timer, but then it starts at zero when the thermometer is not in the water or when I am not fully submerged, leading to inaccurate tracking of my immersion time. There are also instances where it resumes timing when I have taken it out of the water as if it is back in the water when it has not been placed there. This makes getting accurate times challenging.The screen on the timer can be difficult to read when you are relaxing in the ice tub. It often needs to be angled, especially if it is wet - which is very likely - requiring you to reach your arm out of the water.OVERVIEWFor timing, I find it easier to use the voice activation on my cell phone to set the timer, and I can always ask how much time I have left. While I might glance at the thermometer if it floats by to get a general idea of my time, I am not finding it particularly useful or convenient.Another drawback of using this thermometer as your timer is the lack of an audible alert, unlike a traditional timer or phone. You have to constantly check the screen to see how much time has passed, which detracts from the ice bath experience and makes it harder to fully relax.I do appreciate the thermometer’s accuracy.

I have yet to thoroughly test this Ice Bath Thermometer, however, it seems like it is doing the job and working great. I love the design and all of the functions with it and it's really important that you have such a Thermometer to ensure that your water in your Cold Plunge/Ice Bath is the appropriate temperature in order for you to receive the hopeful benefits. This item is essential in that success and so I recommend that you get one.
