Torch does not charge
The item arrived quickly, but does not work. The camera will not take a charge from the charger (though does charge an older model that I already have, so it is not the charger that is malfunctioning). I would be grateful for information on how I can get this item REPLACED. The torch does work when using the wind-up mechanism, so it is not the light itself that is wrong, but the connection from charger to battery somehow.

Misleading Warranty
After 16 months of very infrequent use the torch batteries would not hold a charge. The packaging stated a 2 year warranty but UK Surplus General said they offered 1 year and Freeplay should be contacted. Freeplay said they had sold the surplus stock without warranty.UK Surplus General refused to honour the extended warranty and claimed that the packaging was not part of the contract of sale.I threw the torch away.

Fantastic!!
This is a super torch!I keep mine in the boot of my car in case of emergency. I have only had to use it twice in the two years that I have owned it. Each time was for a puncture, each time in rainy, winter weather. It performed perfectly each time!Prior to owning the Freeplay Jonta I had a variety of conventional torches/lamps in my car. I always forgot to check battery life in these torches which meant I did not have emergency lighting.I strongly recommend having a rechargable light in a car. This freeplay model with its exceptionally bright and efficient LED bulb is perfect for that job. As a precaution I charge the torch once each year using the electricity charger supplied. I have simply wound up the torch for one minute each time I had an emergency - this was perfectly sufficient.I recommend that you purchase the Freeplay Jonta!

An Expensive Waste of Time!
I bought two of these torchs at over £30 each. One never worked from day one and complaints to the suppliers received no reaction. The second one, some 9 months old doesn't hold a charge even after energetic 100 turns on the handle or USB charging. The only plus point is that these things develop your muscles and keep you fit!M J Pilling
