The Dremel 655 Keyhole Router Bit is a high-speed steel tool designed for routing, inlaying, and mortising in wood and soft materials. It is compatible with all Dremel rotary tools and works best with the Dremel #230 and #330 Router Attachments and #231.

It works fine, I just didn't
I would've given it five stars but for the reason I didn't do it was because I couldn't do it cleanly. I used it at 20-25000 RPM and it was smoking (the wood was), it has been so long since I've done any wood work, I miss doing it. I used the straight edge guide to try and do this as straight as possible but unfortunately it looked like a drunk trying to draw a straight line. I think if I needed to do anymore of these keyholes I'd use my router on a router table (only if I had one of those though). But the bit did work and did what it was supposed to

Dremel Key Hole Bit?
Satisfied although disappointed that the product did not come in the manufacturer's packaging. Compared the bit to the other Dremel Key Hole Bit I have and they do look different. For the price what I received will do. Will order from Jason's Toolbox again but if the product comes in anything other than the Manufacturer's packaging that will be the last purchase from that seller. Amazon is awesome! Was able to find several products that are hard to find in the local stores. Amazon is my new goto for savings and hard to find products.

Works great, especially in a drill press
Used it for putting keyholes in what I can assume is compressed cardboard... letters to spell a name made from Michael's made out of a strange particle board. Self-taps with no problems in the soft wood-like substance and on some soft pine I used for practice. I used a drill press (not by or with a Dremel) with great results. I wouldn't do it any other way - you set the depth with the machine and move the piece around underneath. Like others said, have patience and let the bit do the work.

Catch a DIY usage video on youtube first
I don't have a stable, stationary dremel holder (or whatever it is I needed for this) so it didn't work well at all for me. BUT, if I had had the dremel holder, I think the bit would've done the job very well. I saw a DIY usage video on youtube so it's a great addition to any bit collection, but ya gotta have the stabilized dremel holder.

Quality bit
This is a nice, sturdy bit for keyhole routing. Fit it into your router and it will chew away at the back of frames, shelves, or anything else that you want to rout a nice keyhole hanging slot into. You can also use it for inlaying or for making mortises, according to the description, but that will likely depend on what you're looking to do as far as mortise shape and style, etc. Whatever you decide to do, though, the high-speed steel will definitely handle it.

Works as expected
I was trying to come up with a way to hang this custom wooden fixture I was working on. I decided I wanted to have a hole in the fixture to hand it on a nail/screw like I had seen in several manufactured items before. I started to think about how I would rout the different widths and then plug part of. I didn't even know keyhole router bits existed. But I'm glad I stumbled across this one.Super easy, 10 second rout and my piece is on the wall

nice bit, works perfect
Works perfect. I use this in my rotozip and made a jig for the submersing end to fit and slide in. This way I have identical key hold every time. the plunging attachment is nice to have but not necessary. Drill your hole first, mark the drill bit with tape or put a stop on the bit for your depth, makes the whole process a little easier.

Key Hole Bit
Thanks Amazon, I looked all over El Paso for this bit and found it online. They provided fast shipping. I used this bit to make keyholes for a pot rack that I made and worked great! You might have to stop in between drilling to clean out excess saw dust that accumulates inside the keyhole, if not it will start burning and slow down the Dremel. Overall, I am pleased, a handy little drill bit great for small projects.
