Why can't the magnet eyelashes be attached to the eyelashes when wearing, but always stay on the applicator?

This happens if the upper and lower positions are reversed. The correct position is that the blue dot is on the upper side, and the white dot is on the lower side. Just change the position of the upper and lower eyelashes and try again.

Why is there a gap after wearing it?

When you wearing, lift down your eyelid and clamp it, use the upper side of the applicator as close as possible to the root of your real eyelashes, and then lift it up. This requires several repetitions of practice.
