These are the filters you have been looking for
These are the universal 1/4 or 5/16 fuel filters you can make work on almost any small engine that is not fuel injected (due to the high pressure) and there is enough room. You just push the hose on a little farther or you can cut off the smaller end if space is a problem (but if you are looking at these, you already know that) I am talking lawn mowers, snow blowers, and stationary power plants like generators and other outdoor power equipment. These were the standard replacement on the old air cooled VWs made in the last century. Some of the filters I have used from other suppliers have gotten a little week when exposed to gas for over a year. I have not had these long enough to tell if that would be a problem. You would probably replace them once a year anyway due to condensation getting trapped. For what you might spend on on one or two so-called OEM filters you can buy a bag of these. I am so glad I found these and you will be too!

In line fuel filters.
If you have anything with a small gasoline engine, you will need to change these filters at least once per year. Sometimes more often depending on the quality of your fuel and the cleanliness of your fuel can. There are 10 of these in the package so that alone will save me multiple trips to the parts house every time my lawnmower or generator needs to be serviced. These are good quality and arrived quickly.

for garden equipment use
No information supplied with the filter, so some thought is necessary about flow direction is required. Input to filter is on the magnet side.I used a couple of these to prefilter filter air conditioning system flush effluent in a badly contaminated automotive AC evaporator so the liquid could be recirculated. Secondary filtering was through a coffee filter. After clearing the evaporator of major contamination, it will be final finished with a fresh clean fluid. These type of filters generally cover the 50 to 150 micron range. Without a spec supplied with them, am going to say 150 micron. Positioning the housing so the effluent had to run over the magnet, it appeared the magnet worked great to catch any smaller ferrous particles that might get through the filter. That will be confirmed by breaking it open and inspecting the magnet. I saved quite a bit of money being able to reuse the flush. The filter color doesn't seem to be color fast as the liquid filtered through it took on some of the orange color. I don't think that would affected its intended use in a carburetor fuel system for a lawnmower. Fuel injection might be less tolerant.Sixty-six cents per filter seems good to me for garden equipment use.

Seem completely adequate
They look good. They have a little magnet in there to attract ferrous debris but seems more of a gimmick... maybe not.The paper filter element looks to be good and it's snug in the housing. The stepped nipples are helpful for versatility. Barbed ends would have given a bit more confidence against possible leaking but just make sure your clamps are the right size... and tight! As for having no directional flow arrow, just keep in mind the fuel entering the filter should deposit the dirt at the bottom of the plastic housing for you to see and not on the inside of the pleated filter paper where you can't see it.

Can see through the filter again
My old filter was very dark and when I had trouble starting the mower I couldn't tell if it was getting gas without having to undo one of the fuel lines, these filters (pack of 10) fit nicely and I can now see through the filter and tell whether I have a fuel issue or some other problem.
