For those who don't like textbooks
If the thought of studying sentence structures and grammar terrorizes you, this is the course for you. It's very organic and easy to follow, with no pressure to memorize everything. I found it to be useful to prepare me for a university German course.

Solid Resource, Hard to Find this Quality
This will be my third language. I’ve already been through the whole experience of acquiring a new language as an adult, so I know what I need. Trust me when I say this guy knows what he’s doing. He’s got his own approach that oversimplifies things to help you acquire a framework that you can adjust to accomodate more complexity. Other courses tend to throw tons of bizarre constructions at you with very poor if any explanation, which frustrates those of us who cannot retain anything we don’t understand. Let this guy help you.

I bought this book as well as Rosetta Stone. I use rosetta stone whenever I can sit down but I love listening to this audible while cleaning the house or driving.Paul Noble offers an easy way to learn German and his technique is simple. He offers pauses and breaks throughout so that it gives the listener time to think about the sentence and say it out loud.I highly recommend purchasing this if you are looking for a simple way to learn German. Its interesting how many words are similar between German and English.

Paul Nobel is a great teacher!
I would give this set 5 stars, but the DVD was for a foreign country, so I couldn't play it. The CD's were fine though.Paul Nobel has a good method for learning languages.I'm using the course to catch back up with my fluency in German and this is an excellent course to do it.I think this course is right up there with the Pimsleur method, which rated very highly. So I'm satisfied with this and I will recommend this course. I learned how to be fluent in Spanish with Paul Nobel courses, so I think anyone will be able to use it effectively.

Great before trip to Germany
Used this program before a trip to Switzerland and Deutschland and found it much easier to get by in day to day interactions with German speakers. I like the hear-say program and the production quality is very good.

Feels like a game changer
My German language learning started in high school and continued in college but I never felt like I could really say anything beyond polite basics. 30+ years after my initial try at learning German, I've attempted to learn through several online resources including Duolingo, Babbel, and most recently Pimsleur. Of those, Pimsleur (paid) has been the most useful until I got this audiobook. Just a few hours in and I already feel more equipped to carry on a conversation than I have with the other methods. Somehow it's both jogging my memory and giving me new insights into learning. I look forward to finishing this and getting the next book. Thank you Paul Noble!

Too repetitive
The German excersises were great and his grammar descriptions were very helpful. But his English explanations are too repetitive. He explained the masculine Der to den so many times, it was exhausting. Ideally the next version or his podcast will have less English repeating the rules and more German practice of the rules.

Easy learning
Great pace, frequent revisiting of words to aid memory. Very easy to listen to. Much better than Michel Thomas equivilant.

A very good introduction to German
A very good introduction to German, paced very well and does not have the sudden "brick wall" types of jumps in learning that so often mars this type of language course. It teaches how to deal with real world situations such as booking a hotel room, ordering at a restaurant and travelling by train. I've tried many different German courses - this is the only one that I have got even close to finishing (only couple of CD's to go now). The only minus points would give this course is firstly, that it falls foul of all beginners courses like this in that it tries to make out that this learning is effortless - it isn't. Leaning a language takes patience and perseverance, no matter what the course material. What this course does well is, as I mentioned previously, that it paces the material nicely, and introduces new vocabulary gradually - repeating a great deal again and again so that it really sinks in. Secondly, it states that there is no grammar involved. Absolute rubbish! There is plenty of grammar in the material, as there must be to be able to handle German properly. What it does well is that it shields you from the complexities until you are well into the course, then introduces things gradually along with the vocabulary and scenarios at a pace that is comfortable. The third problem is that because it is such a gentle course, your vocabulary at the end of it will be pretty slim - but you can't have it both ways. The gradual explanation of the grammar side of things more than makes up for this.Overall, a fantastic introduction to German that anyone can handle - as long as you put a bit of effort in!
