Works like the original but only addresses 20 & 15 degree angles
I got a knock off of the roller sharpener (I wasn't going to spend $140 for the Tumbler). The knockoff had a few issues, so I decided to double down and get this one.PROS:I like the steel (diamond) 400 & 1000 grit sharpeners and the replacement wheels for both.Rolls easily and the 20 & 15 degree block holds the knife relatively stable.2 additional replacement sharpening stonesFinger protectors are also a nice addition.CONS:There is not any indications of the grit size on any of the four stones - have to go by feelThe 2nd 400 grit wheel did not have the rubber ring to keep it from slipping, I will have to salvage one from the stone I am replacing. The blocks work best on larger knives, the smaller ones slide down the block and the edges are obscured. There is a little dancing going on to get to the edge and keep the angle. The larger, wider blades require you to raise the wheel (I put it on a cutting board, up against the base) to reach the top edge of the blade. A little awkward, but they all suffer seem to have this issue.I do not remember the cost, but it was extremely reasonable.

Now anyone can sharpen a knife properly
Knife sharpening is a skill which requires lots of patience and practice to develop.Unfortunately, most of us have neither the time or patience to learn sharpening correctly. So, what happens is that people who can’t sharpen their blades use them until they get terribly dull and damaged. Then in desperation, they attempt to sharpen their dull, damaged blades using improper techniques and poor equipment. That’s how good knives get ruined. This sharpening kit is really different. It’s easy to use and is almost impossible to use incorrectly.Seriously.lIt’s got a magnetic guide which holds your knife at the perfect sharpening angle. With your blade on the guide, all you do is roll the sharpening cylinder along the edge.Simple and foolproof. This kit comes with everything you’ll need to put a great edge on your knives. It even has a couple of replacement abrasive discs so your sharpener will last that much longer. It’s really a well thought out kit and it’s much less expensive than similar sharpeners you’ll find on the market.Keep all your knives sharp and properly maintained and someday your grandkids will be using them. This is really a great sharpener and people will be impressed with how sharp your knives are.In fact, I suspect that they’ll be asking you to sharpen their knives too.Enjoy being known as the person who can sharpen knives really well.Cheers !

magnet not strong enough to hold knives
The idea of this is amazing. the execution isn't.the basic premise is there is an angled block used to hold your knives at one of two specific angles, and a roller with two different strengths of grit to polish / grind. In theory, you take your blade, stick it to the magnetic end of the block at your desired angle and roll the grinder wheel bit back and forth to sharpen your blade. The issue with this particular item is that the magnetic block isn't strong enough to hold the blade, so it's constantly flopping out of the way with the slightest pressure from the grind wheel. The magnet needs to either be stronger, or the base needs to be wider in order to keep the blade from disconnecting from the magnet. It isn't dangerous, per say, but if one was not careful, I could see this causing an accident.

cheap cash in knockoff
There's a German brand that makes the original of this product and it's quite expensive. This is a very cheap knockoff of that product. It's the second of these that I've tried, because the original product intrigues me. By far and away this is a lesser product than the last of these I tried, the magnets are weak, the grinding stones are too rough, they include an extra set, but they're the same too rough stones, I expected a set of diamond stones and a set of ceramic stones to hone the edge. Magnet strength is the primary force that makes this style of sharpener work, it is imperceptive that the edge doesn't move while you're working it. The magnets are so weak in this block that the blade moves the whole time you're trying to sharpen it. When it arrived it didn't roll correctly, I had to disassemble it and re-seat the bearings. Still, if I tighten the stones too much it has spots that it sticks at and is not smooth.

Magnet Isn't Very Strong
I have used this type of rolling knife sharpener kit before. The issue I have with this one is that the magnets are not strong enough to hold a large knife, making it hard to keep the knife in place to sharpen. If the magnet was stronger I would have rated this much higher. The concept is good on this one but the design quality is lacking.

Good Value and Effective for Most Knives
The Rolling Knife Sharpener Kit is reasonably priced and works well enough depending on the style and size of the knife you’re sharpening. I found that smaller knives don’t work as well with this sharpener, and for larger knives, you may need to raise the roller up a bit to get the right angle. However, once you get the setup right, it does a great job!I’ve sharpened a few knives so far, and it worked great from the first one to the last. I also appreciate that it comes with two replacement stones, which adds to its value. Plus, being able to sharpen at both 15 and 20-degree angles is a nice feature.Overall, it’s a solid product that delivers good results, especially considering the price. Just be prepared to make a few adjustments depending on the knife you’re working with.

Guys love it
This works really well. It sharpens my knives very easily and I am really happy with it. It is also very easy to store because it isn't very large. I like that it comes with the finger covers to try to protect your fingers while sharpening the knives.
