Love the large capacity ink system
Don't have to deal with monthly ink program like my old printer sucked me into. I like the large capacity ink system and the fact we at pressured into a pay per page ink replacement monthly plan makes me happier than ever with this printer. I print beautiful photos and clear copies. easy to make scans and print documents.

Easy Set up!
Printer was easy to setup & get started. I am adjusting to subtle differences between this & my previous printer. This is the first model I've used with refillable ink tanks, so 🤞Print Speed is as expected.

Canon fan
This is my third canon printer, the first 2 lasted approximately 10 years each (home use).Have had good luck with this brand. Setup was a breeze and seems to print very well so far.I knocked off a point because I don't like the exposed paper feed and have to change settings manually for sizing.I am happy I will not have to buy ink cartridges any more.Updates will written as time goes on.

Works well
I really like this printer, although I haven’t had it long. That said, setup was a bit of a challenge. It didn’t install from plug and play, but I’m running Windows 7 and that could have been a factor. They give you a web address for installation instructions which lists a BUNCH of different equipment and topics. I finally searched on G-4280 setup and that link took care of everything. Adding ink went fine and I think the decision to get away from cartridge printers was a good one. Print quality looks good and so far, I’m very pleased.

This all-in-one wireless supertank printer is like the Swiss Army knife of printing—capable of printing, scanning, and copying, all while keeping your wallet happy.Taste the Quality: Imagine this: you’ve just printed a photo of your last vacation, and it looks so vibrant that you can almost hear the ocean waves. The G4280 uses a hybrid ink system that combines pigment black for sharp text and dye-based colors for those eye-popping images. The result? Photos that are not the greatest but recent update helped alot with contrast photos being printed.

Updated 2 months later from 5 stars - it’s malfunctioning. Paper jams and print quality sucks!
Junk! Junk! Junk! Why? Well because it was working just fine for two months. Now suddenly it’s a piece of junk! I had a canon for 10 years, and it was perfect. I upgraded to this one oaring the cheaper made material and it started acting up, eating the paper the paper jamming constantly smearing the cartridge, unable to clean the nozzles, unable to realign it was never dropped or abused. It worked fine for two months I bought the four year warranty on it. I didn’t even get past the manufacturers warranty. Amazon took it back. I like Canon but I would never buy another one of their cheap inkjet printers so I say Avoid this one. It’s not the same canon as I had for 10 years running. It’s sad because I was so excited for this printer and I noticed it it’s cheaply made but I ignored it. I just thought it would be fine. Big mistake Buy something else or return it before it’s too late! It’s cheaply made. All of these positive five stars are seeing are temporary. About the four-year extended warranty and it didn’t even last two months.

Great printer
Purchased on sale. Seems like a solid printer so far. Haven’t used it enough yet to see any issues. Hope for long term success with this printer. Print speed is decent and ink capacity is huge.

smudges, jams too often, dark gray ink (not black), low-budget interface
TOO MANY PROBLEMS - VERY CHEAP!This is my first inkjet printer. Purchased in Dec 2024. Started using in Feb 2025. My last two printers were a Brother laser printer that I used for about 10 years, and the second is Oki MC361 (a VERY good printer that I will start using again -- and only stopped because the cost of replacing the consumables at 10 years was as much as the Canon).INK SMUDGES DURING PRINTING - This does not happen on every page, though it happens enough to indicate a quality issue. Sometimes the words get smudged, rarely black ink fills in where white letters should be, and more often than either, it prints as if it lost precision (imagine letters slightly "out of focus"). When this occurs, is sounds like the print feed process has inconsistent pressure on the paper causing it to lift slightly while printing.JAMS: Paper jams at a rate of about 10%; I checked the interior for paper left behind but there is none. It sounds to me like the pressure on the paper is inconsistent leading to it lifting a bit while printing, then the ink head catches and tears the paper from the side.DOES NOT RECOVER THE PRINT JOB AFTER A JAM: When there is a jam, the printer cannot recover and must be turned off and restarted. Unlike other printers (or perhaps the software, which is more than a driver), it does not resume printing from the page that experienced the jam. One must spring another print job, BUT the printer prints documents in reverse, starting from the last page of the document.poor printing quality, jams, cheap interface, dark gray and not black inkDOES NOT REPRINT FOLLOWING A MISFEED - Twice it has fed two sheets at once, which causes an error to appears as paper incompatible for duplex printing and stops. After pulling the extra paper out, the printer does not print the other side or does not reprint the two-sided page. All other printers that I have ever used have reprinted the page.AIRPRINT PHOTS ARE LIGHT - It is possible that this is an Apple iOS issue. When printing a photo in color using the Airprint protocol, the photos lack depth and appear very light. Using Airprint to print web pages in color does not have this issue.GRAY INK - NOT BLACK: The ink is not fully black and closer to a very dark gray. I do not have my settings set to conserve ink but they are set to grayscale. Specifically, I print black and white articles to read from PDFs.A BIT SLOW: Pages that have a lot of white a quick to come out, but articles with lots of words are fairly slow. y estimate is over 20s for a duplex job, or about 6 pages/minute duplex, which is much lower than the print speed claimed in the marketing.SETUP TOOK TOO LONG - I did not time this, but this had a lot of steps. Wireless printing from my Windows desktop and iPhones was not a problem at all. I do find the required location services at setup unnerving and a grab for personal data. I turned off location services on the Canon app as soon as I was done.SCANNING - Quite slow and the quality is not what I expected. I wanted an automatic document feeder, but this is surprisingly slow and it took me several tries to do what I wanted. The ADF is one-sided only. I knew of this limitation when I selected this printer. This will be another reason for me to go back to my Oki MC361, whose 2-sided ADF scanner was amazing with much better quality. There is no USB with the PIXMA.WHAT IS GOODINK CONSUMPTION: This appears to be quite good and was one of the reasons that I bought this printer. Laser toner is expensive and cheap toner ruined my Oki's fuser, so I went with the Canon PIXMA for its ink capacity and price, but as mentioned above, it is not a true black. The black reservoir is large.WIRELESS PRINTING: This works well. I do not believe the printer actually turns off when it executes the shutdown sequence because it can be located and wakes up (it might have a wake on LAN call setting) when selected for printing.INK FILLING: My first inkjet, but this was easy and the bottles did not cause drips. Invert the bottle, push it onto the filler nozzle, and it drains smoothly and quickly. I experienced no drips when removing all four bottles.Amazon is blocking my uploads because I am on a VPN but I will add photos of all of this if I can update with the app.In the final analysis, I am tremendously disappointed by this printer and will either go back to my Oki MC361 or buy a new Brother MFP.
