Good sewing kit for older toddlers
I ordered this for my 4 year old daughter who is interested in learning sewing. She enjoyed using it.I liked that the kit had a few different theme options, and lucky for us there was a dinosaur theme because my daughter loves dinosaurs.Overall, I liked that it worked on her hand eye coordination and also attention span - even though I helped guide her for most of it because it was a bit advanced, it was able to keep her attention for a good stretch of time. I also liked that this was a bit more challenging because most kits I see are too easy and wouldn't take much time for an older toddler to complete. The kit seemed a little advanced for a (young) 4 year old to do independently because the holes were spaced close together. My daughter had a hard time picking the correct hole to use next, so I sat there and helped her figure out the correct hole. When left to her own devices, she was stitching all over the place instead of around the edge of the picture. The completed picture turned into a special gift for her grandparent.

Great for fine motor development!
I got these lacing cards to start teaching my granddaughter some introductory sewing skills. I remember having cardboard cards like this when I was a kid, but I like that these are durable, lightweight balsa wood. She is a fan of dinosaurs, but these aren't like the typical boyish, scary dinosaurs. The 4 cards come with plenty of colorful embroidery string and 4 plastic (not sharp) "needles." I think I will start by using some plastic-tipped laces/cords I bought separately. She's not 4 yet, so I think this would be a good starting point. Then, when she's ready, we'll switch to the embroidery thread and "needles." I really try to find practical items that aren't electronics for the grandkids. As a teacher, I know fine motor skills are lacking in students today, so these lacing cards are great for developing their dexterity early on.

A sewing activity that sucks in my son is a win!
I got these knowing my daughters would love the activity, but I wasn't expecting my 8-year-old son to ask for to participate. I haven't embroidered much before and there was a little bit of a learning curve for both of us. I accidentally started my daughter off on the wrong side. One side has text and one is blank, and I forgot to knot it on the back side. Also, my daughter thought it was a basic lacing activity and didn't realize it was an exercise in embroidery, so she started off going back and forth. We had to back up a bit so she could restart.Once we figure it out, we were on a role. I think this is a wonderful activity for the kids. There is enough complexity that it doesn't feel like a "baby" craft for the bigger kids. But it's also easy enough that they will have fun with it, deciding what colors to use and all that. There are some nice colors of embroidery floss, and the needles are on point for the activity.Overall I'm very happy with this kit. It's a great introduction to embroidery and I'm hopeful that learning in this environment will make their future endeavors that much easier. I think this kit is priced right.

Great for fine motor skills
I love this because it is a lot of fun for my son to do and it works on his fine motor skills which he needs a little help with. It's easy for him to get the needle through the holes I did help him a little bit with threading the needle again we're still working on his fine motor skills. I really love the creativity that comes with this and we have done them a few times now with different colors starting at different spot he's enjoying it and I recommend this product.

Misleading Age Range in Listing
These are nice for building fine motor skills. I got this for a two year old, but when it arrived the box said 36 months+ I thought it would be cute to do embroidery together, but she’s not really old enough for it yet.Otherwise, it seems like it’ll be great when she grows into it.

Wooden Lacing Toy (Tactile Beginner Sewing for Kids)
Great craft project for little hands, and a step towards learning to sewing. These little 4 pack sets in different themes are perfect for a hands on project for kids. The animated wood lacing toy is easy for them, yet a completely new way to craft a project. Great assortment, affordable fun. Good for 4 years old and up I 'd say,

Fun way to keep toddler busy
The Montessory Wodden LacingToy came with four wooden lacing templates (frog, butterfly, ladybug and dragonfly) yarn and plastic needles. It had everything included what was needed for the lacing activity.Definitely a fun way to keep toddler busy and work on fine motor skills and hand - eye coordination. You can also reuse the templates/ lacing activity, just by removing the yarn.

Great Fun!
I recently purchased the Montessori Wooden Dinosaur Lacing Toys for my kids, and I couldn't be happier with the choice! This delightful sewing kit is perfect for toddlers and kids aged 2 to 7, making it a versatile educational tool that grows with them. The colorful dinosaur designs are adorable and instantly grab the attention of little ones, which makes learning fun and engaging. What I love most about these lacing toys is how they promote fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. My children enjoy threading the laces through the holes, and I've noticed significant improvement in their dexterity. It's also a fantastic way to introduce early education concepts like counting and colors. This toy doubles as a sensory experience, allowing kids to explore textures and develop their creativity as they play. It’s also made from high-quality, child-safe wood, giving me peace of mind as a parent. These lacing toys have become a favorite activity during quiet time or playdates, and they make an excellent birthday gift for both boys and girls. Overall, I highly recommend the Montessori Wooden Dinosaur Lacing Toys—they're not just toys, but a wonderful investment in my children’s development!

Great overall, thicker string would be ideal
Per photo #1, the string is quite thin. In the item description, it shows the string being looped 4-6 times over each hole which feels quite tedious and boring. Our toddler at 16 months is a bit too young to really appreciate it, however she can do it with guidance. Each of the wood pieces is well-sanded and no rough edges which is nice.I think if the string were slightly thicker, even so that 2-3 times would be sufficient to fill it with good visibility, it would become a 5-star product. However, it is still fun enough and good hand-eye coordination skills for a young one. I can give a soft recommendation for this.

Cute set
The first thing to say is that the headline on this ad is misleading when it claims this set is for "1 2 3 4 year olds" – the box clearly states this set is for 36 months and up and highlights a choking hazard then says "not for children under 2 years". On the rear of the box, it again states 'not suitable for children under three years old'. So mixed messages re safety. In terms of the activity level I'd say this is definitely for ages 3 and above. It's a nice cardboard box, containing four 'pictures' (cat, dog, duck and rabbit) with holes, plus a plastic bag containing different coloured yarn, and some plastic 'needles' (not sharp). I'm not sure why the top of the box also shows images of an elephant monkey and fox because these are not featured. Some three year olds might struggle with the dexterity required to thread the yarn into the needles, even though the gaps are fairly wide. The yarn is nice enough. Kids will be able to choose different colours for different parts of the animal. I think this will be a nice gift for children who watch their parents / grandparents sewing and want to join in the fun – although, with only four pictures, the fun will be somewhat limited. For those who care about such things in terms of quality, there is a slightly bizarre and badly edited 'blurb' on the back of the box – letters missing, extra spaces etc. 3.5 stars.

Great for developing fine motor skills
I had something similar to this as a kid, so was excited to get this for my child.Pros:- You receive everything shown in the picture (4 wooden picture boards with holes, 10 packages of vibrant-coloured embroidery floss, and 4 plastic needles)- Comes in a giftable box- Though on the thinner side, each piece of wood is well-made without any rough edgesOpportunities:- The titles suggests it's for ages 1-4 then for ages 2-4. I think it's more appropriate for ages 3-5 as I don't see a two-year-old being able to thread the needles (though I suppose an adult could help with that part)
