Not only for dummies!
It seems that this book about Adobe Premiere Pro is not only for "dummies", but it's also for those of us at the Mensa level as well. Being an advanced user of Premiere Pro, I thought there might not be anything new I could learn, but sure enough, I'm only at chapter 6, and I'm learning more new things about it than I new existed. I would highly reccomend this book, not only for "dummies", but also for geniuses as well, and everyone in between. They REALLY make things understandable. I'd have uploaded a video review as well, but I have to leave for work in a few minutes. :)

Premiere quick reference
Bought as a quick reference for Premiere. Have been using FCP for years and employer switched over to (CC) Premiere this past summer. So far it's just what I needed for working with Premiere.

Good for Premiere Pro but not Pro 2
It was an enjoyable read, but as it was for an older version which I didn't notice when I purchased, it wasn't helpful to me. It was an easy read through the beginning and informative in some areas.

This book is Obsolete
This book is obsolete. I had no idea when I bought it that it was published in 2004, sixteen years ago. Technology sixteen years ago isn't anything like it is today. I want to learn editing on Adobe Premiere Pro. I'm a certified FCP editor and familiar with editing programs. But this book was written for technology in 2004, talking about mini dvds that nobody even uses anymore. They should take these obsolete books out of their inventory. You could call the sale of these obsolete technology books a form of consumer fraud. I returned it.

is a great how to book
I like how the book is layed out. it starts with the basics then goes step by step in how to perform the actions to make your project work with tips and hints. The book is well written and easy to understand.

Copyright 2003! This book is 20 years old!
The book is 20 years old! This is a software book that is so far out of date I’m losing my mind thinking about it.

Good Basics, Poor Examples
As does the entire "Dummy" series, this book takes things from a very basic level and assumes little or nothing in the way of prior knowledge. It does an excellent job of explaining concepts and giving an overview of the Premier Pro software. After that, it falls short. The examples are very general and no disk is provided for tutorials. This lack of examples and of real tutorials makes learning the software, at least for me, more difficult. There were time when I thought I was following along correctly only to later learn that was not the case. If I had real examples to which I could compare my work, I would have gotten a lot further.Still, for teaching the basics, this is a respectable book. This is especially true if you want to learn about the program and not necessarily how to use the program. It can be read and understood away from the computer. In that respect, it is superior to example driven texts which need the presence of the PC. Still, I learn better with the examples.

Great Book
I got into a job that used Premiere Pro and I did not have much training so this book came in very handy. It was great reference guide that I still use even after I became more trained on Premiere.
