Salesforce.com for Dummies (For Dummies Series)

Perfect book for beginners wanting to learn the basics of Salesforce.com. I have used other CRM's in the past, but my new position required that I know Salesforce.com. I was familiar with the CRM, however, I required some more, in-depth, knowledge on the system. The Dummies Series of books has always been a good starting source for me, so I didn't think I could go wrong with this book.If you're looking for in-depth, advanced functionality, this is not the book for you. However, if you are new to Salesforce.com or have a basic understanding but want to get up to speed on how to use the platform, then I highly recommend the Dummies guide.The book is so informative that the copy I purchased is being passed around to other employees to read and learn from. Now, I just need the company to pay for their copies so I can have mine back!

I find this resource to be very helpful with my workplace responsibilities in working in Salesforce. Easy to follow format along with simple techniques listed. This book is NOT for a true beginner though. I have used Salesforce in the past making this resource more relevant to my needs. 5 stars if truly for "Dummies". 4 stars as it relates better to the novice level.

The book was very well written for a beginner and answered a lot of questions. Not an in-depth manual but a very good place to start. The Table of Contents is detailed so finding information when you need it is very convenient. Not the book's fault but Salesforce changes so rapidly that any book will be slightly out of date before it's even printed.

This book was just okay. If you are looking for anything that would classify you as a super user you will be disappointed. This book really just shows the basics and assumes that a vanilla implementation of salesforce is okay for you.If you want a good refresher on the basics then this is a good book for you.

Chapter 8 Sending Emails has an omission regarding creating letterheads, page 118 needs another instruction before the save. You must flag the document for external use otherwise the wizard cannot find the file. Overall the book has been useful.

Real problem with this book: Not a word about the nonprofit starter pack or about issues I had with learning that. I was attempting to prepare to use Salesforce for a Washington State nonprofit and without a part about the nonprofit starter pack, this book isn't much help. Thank goodness for internet tutorials.

Good introduction for a salesforce novice, lots of good tips and easy steps to follow to get up to speed.

This book is helpful, but it still takes the SalesForce help function to explain things.

We have used Salesforce within the business for several years with no training and always felt we were doing things the long way.Jargon free guide as always within this series has been helpful in establishing the system knowledge.good reference book in good condition.

It is a very basic book, I know the "dummies" series are not supposed to provide advanced knowledge, but I spent several hours just to learn concepts that I could have guessed myself without a book, just by using common sense.If you a are completely new to the IT world and the internet, you might find benefit from this book, otherwise you may as well move on to a more advanced book straight away.

Ist glaube ich Seite 287 - dort steht dann (in englisch, hier zusammengefasst übersetzt): Verbundene Berichte sind eine tolle Sache, man kann viel damit machen. Wenn Sie mehr darüber erfahren wollen, klicken sie in Salesforce auf die Hilfe und lesen Sie, was dort zu dem Thema steht!Danke lieber Autor, da wäre ich ohne das Buch sicher nie drauf gekommen - silly me....

I really loved this book. A very good book but should definitely be sold as "Salesforce.com For Dummies", this book is definitely more than the one required by a beginner.More basic concepts, definitions and detailed explanation would have been nice.I supplemented my Salesforce Trailhead with this book and got most from the book.
