Q: How many cups is 3.5 pounds of split peas?

my 5pound bag of split peas perfectly fills my 10cup glass storage bin.

Q: Are these good to eat straight out of the bag?

These are hard and uncooked. They smell lovely, but I would not recommend trying to eat them without some sort of processing (cooking, soaking, grinding, etc.) to enhance digestion (including mastication... I can't imagine chewing these) and bioavailability.

No refrigeration needed in their dried state to transport. Once cooked yes, they need to be refrigerated. I cook up a big batch and freeze containers of the delicious soups.

Q: Do you use any kind of pesticide on your split peas? I don't see an organic symbol

I know that they don't use Roundup, but for any information on pesticides, I suggest you contact the company directly. I can tell you that they are very high quality and delicious.
