This book is absolutely amazing, leading us into iodene/iodite solution and why it affects every single system in the body, not only the thyroid, as in hypothyroidism which is on the increase in this time of ours.And by the time the thyroid is affected a number of endocrine glands have also been affected, and need to be helped....the endocrine system works like an orchestra -one helping out the others, until one day they all get exhausted and our fascinating physiology starts to break down. He also tells of the halogens which stand in the way of iodene absorption, and that there are two forms of iodene....one of them being toxic, the other helpful. This is an absolute 'must read ' and we should thank David Brownstein for his research.Monica Ledlie

An excellent book, a must-read for anyone suffering from thyroid problems or any other iodine deficiency issues in my opinion. Controversial, yes, but well sourced, so you can do your own research. Poorly indexed, which is a pity as this is a book that I will want to refer to again and again, but still worth five stars as it has been so helpful to me and has, I believe, helped me to avoid having to take thyroid drugs for life.

The information is interesting. The writing itself is a bit too long for the amount of information being presented, the book could probably be halved without losing anything.

Iodine deficiency is highly likely one of the root causes of many increasing health problems. The modern Western medecine is too often just masking the symptoms but not trying to find out and then addressing the reasons why someone becomes ill.One of the books that I bought to help me to regain my health - very good manual for ordinary people like myself.

It is a great book which everybody who is interested in own health should read. You need to take care of yourself and not wait until the conventional doctors prescribe only tablets from which Big Farma gain enourmous profits but not your well beeing.

This book could be defined as the medicine and medical practice that time forgot. The role of iodine so essential in the development of man and mans health is revisited and explained. If you are on a health or longevity quest read this.

I bought a good/used one only to find that the seller had mislead me on the quality. So this is just a warning to those sourcing it 2nd hand. My copy came with Jacqui and Jane scribbles chronicling their journey with iodine. It was funny but not what I had signed up for.As for the book, it is orientated towards women but it is not offering any information that can't be googled.
