This product is garbage. No directions, no safety instructions.Once plugged into your lamp of choice, a cough, a sneeze, even walking past to fast or loud I guess.. makes this turn on and off. Consistently turning on and off, even while in the room, talking about how awful it is, and laughing cuz it won't stop...makes it turn on and off more.100% a FIRE HAZARD!!!PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE!!!

We bought “The Clapper” because we have an extra tall floor lamp. Since it’s so tall, I can’t reach the switch. My husband can but it’s a stretch. I told my best friend about it & she suggested “The Clapper” as they had it & used it regularly. I purchased it & it has been a game changer. It’s so convenient to be able to “Clap on, Clap off”. It checks off all of the boxes, good price, convenient product & makes life much easier. The only draw back is I had a sinus infection recently & I happened to cough twice, close together, well it turned on & 2 more coughs & it turned off! That feature has provided us with a lot of laughs, and who couldn’t use a little more humor in their life?

Now I remember having ones like these when I were younger. And you'd clap your hands twice they'd come on in clap your hands twice they go off. It seems with this one here I have my fan plugged into it I clap my hands twice it does not come on the plug itself comes on but the fan does not. Now there's nothing in any of these instructions that explains to you why any specific items would work in why any others would not. SO I don't know what the catch is with this fan or this plug, but when I clap twice the plug lights up but the fan does not come on. Now here is the kicker and why it received two stars. So I clapped twice my fan does not turn on, I have to manually turn it on, but AGAIN heres the kicker. When I clap three times to shut it off it does turn off with the switch. So go figure I'm at a loss for that I don't know what to say about that. I have plugged other things into that as well. And it does the same exact thing. I can clap twice the light comes on the switch to the outlet, but the item will not. I have to manually turn the item on. But if I clap three times that item will turn off with the plug/outlet. So there is something within that mixture there is an issue. But nowhere in the instructions is and explanation to help you understand what is going on or why that is happening. So keep that in mind if you like to purchase this. I honestly like the old ones I used years ago when we were children they seem to have worked better than these upgraded ones. Now would I buy another one at this point I probably would say no because we have Smart plugs and I can just ask Alexa or Google to do it for me lol

No instructions!

I remember growing up with clap-on clap off stuff but this product does not work. I put it in my living room for when I walk in the door. I can clap on and the light will go on. It does not work. Do not waste your money

For this to work, you need to be close to the device and clap your hands to maximum effect, otherwise it will not activate. I found myself clapping several times to activate the switch, so there is definitely room for improvement, and that's why I'm deducting one star.This device does work, and due to the paucity of competition, this is probably your best choice.

Very convenient if used properly.

However, I found it to be far too sensitive to ambient sounds, making it more frustrating than functional.The light constantly turns on and off with everyday noises—such as clapping from a TV show, a sneeze, or even distant footsteps. This sensitivity made it impractical for use in my bedroom, where it would randomly activate throughout the day and night.While the dual outlet design and wireless functionality are appealing, the overly sensitive sound sensor undermines the overall experience. Unless you live in absolute silence, this product might not meet your expectations.It’s a great idea, but it needs better noise filtering to be truly reliable. Giving it 3 stars for the concept, but the execution needs serious improvement.
