I'm pretty pleased with this radio. The FM reception is excellent despite it not having an external antenna. The sound quality out of such a small radio is quite impressive -- lots of bass, but not at the expense of decently clear mid and upper ranges. It's easy to set up, and the 9 storable station presets are handy to have. I like that you can directly enter a station by entering the frequency without having to use the seek button. I've not used it as a speaker with an SD card so I can't speak to how well that works, but as a portable radio it has been performing very well.There are a few irritations, however. The on/off button also is the volume control, which is not convenient. I would have much preferred a separate on/off switch. The on/off/volume knob doesn't have a good feel to it. Having clicks or indents would have been nice. While setting up the station presets is simple, using them can be a bit annoying. If the screen is off, the first press of the preset button wakes up the screen. You then have to press the preset button again to change the station. There's also a delay of a couple of seconds from the time you press the preset and when the station changes. It does this since the keypad is also used to direct enter a frequency, so the radio has to pause to determine if you want a preset or if you're entering a frequency.But all of these issues are secondary to the fact that it pulls in stations great, sounds fantastic, and has great battery life. I'm happy with the purchase -- 4.5 stars

Awesome radio -- simple to find stations by seek, direct-input or memory. No need to keep it plugged in as it works off of a rechargeable battery. Very compact. Sturdy. Great sound-- it's hard to believe so much sound from such a small radio.

A Very Nice Little Player Overall! Small and simple and as such not the best sound quality or powerful volume but adequate on both counts. No external antenna to fuss with or break off and so had trouble tuning distant stations but has great reception for anything within 50 miles.I bought this for a friend as an alternative to a "sleep sounds" generator figuring she could pick the type of sounds she like best and load them onto a micro SD card on her laptop then play them on this. It's the only micro SD Player with stereo speakers I could find and it's perfect; plug in the card, turn it on and it plays! She did 8 hour MP3 files and this thing plays happily all night long on a single charge. Takes up to 32Mb micro SD cards.I brought myself one after seeing hers and recorded some long jazz files for background music in my office.Turn it on, it plays, turn it off and it stops; no technical effort required.Also connects to Bluetooth (which I haven't tried) and has a decent FM tuner with the nice feature of "direct entry" for stations from the keypad. To tune 104.5 you simply key in 1045 and you're there; you can also tune up or down continuously or "seek" stations sequentially. Has headphone output with better sound through good headphones.I wish BoomByte made a larger version of this with bigger speakers and a more powerful amp but the same features otherwise. I would definitely buy that! Until then "The Brick" will work nicely!Good value for the money. Easy controls, good FM tuning, rechargeable battery, 32Mb micro SD playback.

As you can see this little guy has seen better days. I bought this April 2024. I lost it 2 weeks later. I looked everywhere. I thought it was gone for good. Last week my wife came in with it in her hand. It had spent the last year in the back yard or one of our rentals. Yes one year in the rain, snow, and general nastyness of the eastern North Carolina swamps. So I did what every red blooded american would do. I plugged in in and turned it on. It works. I checked everything the radio, the Bluetooth connections, the SD slot heck even the SD card that I left in it works. The only thing that let's you know it spent the last year outside in the weather is the sun faded case.

Does what I needed it to do. I bought this for when I go to the drive in. Sounds pretty good for a tiny radio.

Very impressed with this player. Easy to connect my phone to it via Bluetooth. The charge lasts a long time and it's handy that it will charge and play at the same time. If you're going to use a micro SD card with this be sure to read the directions. Songs play by default in the order that they are copied on to the SD card.The sound is great for such a small box. Great value, very happy with this.

Lightweight and ruggedly built, this little portable music producer puts out lots of sound for its size. My primary purpose for buying this unit was the USB thumb drive/flash drive portal that allows me to pop in that amazing little device that holds a huge bounty of songs. No more reliance upon lame corporate-owned radio stations that play the same old worn-out songs endlessly and then some more. If I hear Hotel California one more time, I shall scream akin to a banshee in a bad mood!!!The built-in battery is not replaceable. Other sources declare that it is a long-lived battery, so will hope for the best. The build-quality appears to be stout, with the various buttons and knobs conveying a quality feel indicative of a long life for those items. The aural aspect is more than ample for my aged ears, whose sound frequency range is vastly declined from the infant's perfection range of 20 hertz to 20,000 hertz. I am unsure what my current hearing range is but hear I can and the music pouring out of the speakers sounds mighty good to me.The radio works, but I tried that aspect of the unit just for curiosity’s sake. Once that functionality was ensured, I departed to resume my corporate radio boycott and groove on the tunes huddled within that flash drive thingy where the vast number of songs awaiting me ensures the repulsive repetitiveness of corporate radio will never assail my essence again!!!In a nutshell: I like the unit.Have a nice day!!!
